office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth with his objections thereto.

To provide for the ordinary expenses of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania. for six months ending May thirty-one, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Emergency.

General Assembly.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the follow- Appropriation. ing sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the payment of the expenses of the General Assembly, for the six months ending May thirty-one, one thousand nine hundred and nine, be and the same are hereby specifically appropriated to the several objects hereinafter named, to be paid out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, in the manner prescribed by law: Provided, That the salary, stationery, postage, and mileage of the members of the Legislature shall be paid by the State Treasurer, on the warrant of the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively. All other sums to be paid on the warrant of the Auditor General drawn upon the State Treasurer, unless otherwise prescribed by law: all warrants subject to deductions for advances made by the State Treasurer.

Senate.

For the payment of the salaries of fifty Senators, Salaries. and extra compensation allowed by law to the Presi dent pro tempore of the Senate, the sum of seventyfive thousand one hundred and one dollars ($75,101).
