And that they had examined and found duly enrolled, the bill entitled "An act to increase the salary of the Register of the Treasury," the bill entitled "An act fixing the compensation of the chaplains of Congress," the bill entitled "An act for the relief of Peter Audrain," the bill entitled

An act to establish post roads," the bill entitled

"An act fixing the compensation of the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives, and making provision for the Clerks employed in their offices," also the bill entitled "An act to allow a drawback of duties on spirits distilled and sugar refined within the United States, and for other purposes."

Mr. Lacock submitted the following resolution : Resolved, That there be paid out of the contingent fund of this House, to Robert Tweedy, Tobias Simpson, and George Hicks, the extra sum of one hundred dollars each, as a gratuity for their uniform good conduct; and

The resolution was three times read by unanimous consent and passed.

A message from the House of Representatives, by Mr. Dougherty, their Clerk:

Mr. President-The House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments of the Senate to the resolution relative to the more effectual collection of the public revenue: also in the amendments to the bill entitled "An act concerning invalid pensioners."

They have passed the bill from the Senate entitled "An act making further appropriations for the year 1816," with an amendment, in which they request the concurrence of the Senate. And he withdrew.

The Senate proceeded to consider the amendment of the House of Representatives to the bill last mentioned.
