Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we come before Thee with grateful hearts. We thank Thee for Thy loving kindness and tender mercies and all the good things that have come into our lives, but we thank Thee most, Father, for knowing that Thou art so loving and good. We pray Thee that Thou wilt bless this Convention to-day, that Thou wilt bless each member, that Thou wilt fill them with Thy spirit's power and presence. Help them, Oh Father, to realize their great importance in regard to matters of State. Help them, Father, to realize that they are making laws or amendments that will not be only for this State, but will be something for the whole country and for other countries. We are so glad and so thankful that Thou hast chosen men to be worthy to perform great duties for Thee and for Thy people. Most of these men have come from different parts of the State and country, and we pray Thee that thou wilt bless their homes. Thou knowest that there are anxieties in the homes until each one returns. Bless their wives and children and mothers and all their relatives. Father, we realize that, after all, we are just one great family. So we pray Thee to be very gracious to these men to-day. Help them to be self-composed and self-controlled; h lp them to realize that Thou lokost down upon them and that Tu delightest in them, not only for this cecasion. but forever and hereafter Father, bless our country as a nation, keep us as in th hollow of Thy hand. Bless all those, Father, who have been made worthy to rule this nation, even in the smallest hamlet. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
