Mr. Burr introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend the Liquor Tax Law, relating to the places in which traffic in liquor shall not be permitted" (Int. No. 303), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on taxation and retrenchment.

Also, a bill entitled "An act to authorize the board of estimate and apportionment of the city of New York, in its discretion, to examine, audit, and allow the claims of James T. Ellett and Frank Miller, for compensation for services rendered as secretary and watchman, respectively, to the Richmond county park commissioners" (Int. No. 304), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Gardner introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, being chapter 378 of the Laws of 1897, as amended by chapter 466 of the Laws of 1901, relative to opening streets and parks" (Int. No. 305), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Foley introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure with respect to the city court of the city of New York" (Int. No. 306), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. McEwan introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 431 of the Laws of 1849, entitled 'An act to incorporate the Albany Hospital"" (Int. No. 307), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. McEwan, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on the judiciary, retaining its place on the order of third reading.

Also, a bill entitled "An act to consolidate the consolidated corporation now existing under the name of the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society with the corporations known as the Saratoga County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Columbia County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and to define the powers and duties of the corporation as so consolidated" (Int. No. 308), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Barnes introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 461 of the Laws of 1885, entitled 'An act regulating newspaper advertisements chargeable to the county of Rensselaer,' in relation to advertising in newspapers" (Int. No. 309), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Barnes, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, retaining its place on the order of third reading.

Mr. Prime introduced a bill entitled "An act to authorize the Comptroller of the State to hear and determine the application of John Brown for cancellation of the tax sale made by the Comptroller in 1895 of lot 25, Small's patent, town of Moriah, county of Essex" (Int. No. 310), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Prime, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on finance, retaining its place on the order of third reading.

Mr. Coggeshall introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend section 3 of chapter 314 of the Laws of 1874, entitled 'An act to

establish a board of police and fire commissioners of the city of Utica,' in relation to salary of clerk" (Int. No. 311), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

Mr. Cobb introduced a bill entitled "An act to provide for free tuition of nonresident pupils in schools maintaining an academic department and making an appropriation therefor" (Int. Shelland against the State of New York, for money alleged to have been expended and for services rendered as an officer in the Thirty-ninth Regiment of the New York State Militia in the years 1861 and 1862" (Int. No. 325), which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.
