Whereas, P Q has this day been brought before me as a defendant on a charge of murder, [or other crime, as the case may be,] and on examination, had according to law, it is adjudged that there is strong suspicion of his guilt, these are therefore to command you to receive into your custody the said P Q, and him confine safely in your Jail, there to remain until he be delivered thence by due process of law. It appearing to the satisfaction of the Company Court Martial this day held at muster ground, CD Captain, EF Lieutenant, G H Ensign, all here present, that A B one of the privates of the company, did make default, and fail to attend muster on the last, for which default, he renders no sufficient excuse. It is therefore ordered and adjudged by the Court Martial, that the said A B forfeit and pay the sum of dollars for the aforesaid default. Given under my
