The Tale of Forman, and several other new Novels, will be noticed as early as possible. All works of History or Science must now be postponed to our yearly Supplement; amongst the former is Mrs. Moore's well-written abridgement of the History of France. We request our Correspondent from Rongham not to send us any more Poetry. His lines militate too much both against rhyme and grammar to be admissible in LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE. The Recluse of the Pyrenees will be noticed, if possible, in our next. We are sorry that a respected Subscriber at Hampton-Court should have discovered offence where the contrary was intended. We hasten to exculpate ourselves, because our principles exactly coincide with his own: but we are well assured that satire often touches where reproof will never reach; such was intended in the well-written article from whence we gleaned the extract; and the sarcasm on those moral and modern sermons, which are so universally read, was on account of the Divine Personage being too seldom mentioned. There is no attack on a most respected body of men, but only on such as disgrace it. The well-written Brief Account of Constantinople, &c. from C. W. came too late for this Number, but will certainly appear in our next, Miss M. L. Rede's Poetical contributions came too late. They will be attended to as early as possible.
