After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Lockwood, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the above named bills, the twenty-fifth, fortieth, forty-second, fifty-seventh, sixty-eighth, with amendments, also the title of the thirty-ninth be amended to read as follows:

"An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to salaries in the police department of such city."

which report was agreed to, and said bills ordered to a third reading.

The Assembly returned the Assembly bill (No. 711, Senate Reprint No. 1261, Rec. No. 105) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to the board of control of the agricul tural and domestic service school at Delhi, Delaware county," with a message that they have concurred in the amendments of the Senate thereto.

Ordered, That the Clerk return said bill to the Assembly.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 911, Int. No. 816) entitled "An act authorizing the city of Elmira to convey certain premises to Samuel G. H. Turner," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said bill to the mayor of the city of Elmira for a hearing, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 907, Int. No. 812) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, in relation to peace officers."

Also, Senate bill (No. 707, Int. No. 171) entitled "An act to amend the Domestic Relations Law, in relation to marriages." Also, Senate bill (No. 158, Int. No. 158) entitled "An act to amend the Lien Law, in relation to chattel mortgages on stocks of merchandise."

Also, Senate bill (No. 40, Int. No. 40) entitled "An act to amend the Dedecent Estate Law and the Personal Property Law, in relation to the investment of trust funds by individual fiduciaries in parts of mortgages, extending to them the same privileges in relation thereto now held by trust companies."

Also, Senate bill (No. 1181, Int. No. 799) entitled "An act to amend the Farms and Markets Law, in relation to the sale of concentrated commercial feeding stuffs."

Also, Senate bill (No. 904, Int. No. 460) entitled "An act to amend the Public Service Commission Law to define serviceat-cost contracts,' and to authorize municipal corporations having a population of less than one million inhabitants and street surface railroad corporations to enter into service-at-cost contracts, and to authorize the Public Service Commission to approve of such contracts and validating such contracts," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bills to the Governor. The Senate bill (No. 726, Int. No. 657) entitled "An act to amend chapter seven hundred and fifty-two of the Laws of nineteen hundred and seven, entitled 'An act to revise the charter of the city of North Tonawanda,' generally," was returned by the mayor of the city of North Tonawanda with a certificate that a public hearing has been duly held on said bill in pursuant of
