Proctor of Jefferson City. Mr. Viles placed in nomination Mr. Walter E. Bailey of Jasper county for Temporary Speaker. There being no further nominations, Mr. Bailey was declared elected by acclamation. Mr. Porter of Lafayette county was appointed to escort Speaker-elect Bailey to the chair.
