VER. 28.

Καὶ τὰ ἀγενῆ τοῦ κόσμου, καὶ τὰ ἐξουθενημένα ἐξελέξατο ὁ Θεὸς, καὶ τὰ μὴ ὄντα, ἵνα τὰ ὄντα καταργήσῃ·

VER. 30.

Ἐξ αὐτοῦ δὲ ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ, ὃς ἐγενήθη ἡμῖν σοφία ἀπὸ Θεοῦ, δικαιοσύνη τε καὶ ἁγιασμὸς καὶ ἀπολύ rpwis

CHAP. II.-VER. 1.

not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak : and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you, John xvi. 8-14. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, Rom. xv. 18, 19. For our Gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake, 1 Thess. i. 5. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the Gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into, 1 Pet. i. 12.

VER. 5.

Ἵνα ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν μὴ ᾖ ἐν σοφίᾳ ἀyθρώπων, ἀλλ ̓ ἐν δυνάμει Θεοῦ.

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

VER. 6.

Σοφίαν δὲ λαλοῦμεν ἐν τοῖς τελείοις σου φίαν δὲ οὐ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου, οὐδὲ τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου τῶν καταργουμένων·

Howbeit we speak wisdom among a them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

VER. 7.

μυστη

̓Αλλὰ λαλοῦμεν σοφίαν Θεοῦ ἐν ρίω, τὴν ἀποκεκρυμμένην, ἣν προώρισεν ὁ Θεὸς πρὸ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς δόξαν ἡμῶν,

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, a even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world bunto our glory:

VER. 8.

*Ην οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τού του ἔγνωκεν· εἰ γὰρ ἔγνωσαν, οὐκ ἂν τὸν Κύριον τῆς δόξης ἐσταύρωσαν.
