Resolved, That there be paid, as part of the contingent expenses of this House, to Solomon Hays, an officer thereof, three dollars for each day's attendance on the House during its present session, and for one day before the session, and one day after the session, in cleaning the Assembly chamber; to Alexander Strong, Homer R, Phelps, Richard Ten Broeck, Nathan T. Arnold, for the services of their sons, and to Harmanus Henderer for the services of his grandson Harnianus Bridges, respectively, one dollar per day for every day they have respectively attended as messengers of the Assembly, to be certified by the Speaker. The House then proceeded to the consideration of the report of the comınittee of the whole, on the engrossed bill from the Senate, entitled “An act concerning proceedings on negotiable securities, and the adjournment of courts during the existence of infectious diseases ;” the said report being that the committee had gone through the said bill, and agreed to the same without amendment. Mr. Speaker put the question whether the House would agree with the committee of the whole in their report, and it was determined in the affirmative. Thereupon, The House then proceeded to the consideration of the resolution of the Senate, fixing upon a day for the adjournment of the Legislature; the same being amended, was read, in the words following, to wit: Resolved, (if the Assembly concur,) That this Legislature will adjourn on Tuesday the third day of July instant, at twelve o'clock at noon. Mr. Speaker put the question whether the House would agree to concur with the Senate in their said resolution as amended, and it was determined in the affirmative. Ordered, That the clerk deliver a copy of the said resolution to the Senate. The Senate returned the bill entitled "An act to provide for the payment of certain expenses of government.” Ordered, That the clerk deliver the said bill to the Governor. The House then again resolved itself into a committee of the whole, on the engrossed bill from the Senate, entitled “An act to regulate the introduction of foreign emigrants into the city of NewYork ;” and after some time spent thereon, Mr. Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr. Spencer, from the said committee, reported progress, and asked for leave to sit again. Mr. Speaker put the question whether the House would grant such leave, and it was determined in the negative. Mr. Arnold made a motion that the House should agree to adjourn.
