His Majefty, by virtue and in pursuance of this A&t, and according to the Powers and Authorities hereby vested in him, fhall have the fame force and Effect to all Intents and Purpofes as the like As would have if done by His Majesty himself, and fhall to all Intents and Purposes be full and fufficient Warrant to all Persons acting under the Authority thereof; and all Persons shall yield Obedience thereto, and carry the fame into Effect, in the fame manner and for the fame Purpofes as the fame Perfons ought to yield Obedience to and carry into Effect the like Acts done by His Majefty himself; any Law, Course of Office, or other Matter or Thing to the contrary notwithftanding.

Form of Signa II. And be it further enacted, That as to all Authorities given ture of Regent. and Appointments made in the Name and on the Behalf of His Majefty, and all other A&ts, Matters and Things ufually done under the Authority of the Royal Sign Manual, the Signature of the Regent in the Form following; that is to fay, George P. R. or in cafes where the Royal Signature has ufually been affixed in Initials only, then in the Form G. P. R., shall be as valid and effectual, and have the fame Force and Effect as His Majefty's Royal Sign Manual, and fhall be deemed and taken to be to all Intents and Purposes His Majefty's Royal Sign Manual, and be obeyed as fuch.

III. And be it further enacted, That when His Majefty shall by of Act to cease. the Bleffing of God be reftored to fuch a State of Health as to be capable of refuming the Perfonal Exercife of his Royal Authority, and fhall have declared his Royal Will and Pleasure thereupon, as hereinafter provided, all and every the Powers and Authorities given by this Act, for the Exercise and Adminiftration of His Royal Power and Authority, or for the ufing, executing and performing the Authorities, Prerogatives, Acts of Government and Administration of the fame, which belong to the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to ufe, execute and perform, or for the Care of His Majefty's Royal Perfon, fhall ceafe and determine; and no Act, Matter or Thing, which, under this Act, and previous to, fuch Declaration might be done in the Administration of His Majefty's Royal Power and Authority, or in the ufing, exercifing or performing any fuch Authorities, Prerogatives, Acts of Government or Adminif tration as aforefaid, or in the Care of His Majesty's Royal Perfon, by virtue and in purfuance of this Act, fhall, if done after fuch Declaration of His Majefty's Royal Will and Pleasure, be thenceforth

IV. Provided always, and be it further enacted, That all Perfons holding any Offices or Places, or Penfions during His Majesty's Pleafure, at the time of fuch Declaration, under any Appointment or Au. thority of the Regent, or Her Majefty, under the Provifions of this A&t, fhall continue to hold the fame, and to ufe, exercife and enjoy all the Powers, Authorities, Privileges and Emoluments thereof, not withstanding fuch Declaration of the Refumption of the Royal Au thority by His Majefty, unless and until His Majefty fhall declare his Royal Will and Pleasure to the contrary; and all Orders, A&ts of Government or Administration of His Majefty's Royal Authority, made, iffued or done by the faid Regent, before fuch Declaration, fhall be and remain in full Force and Effect, until the fame shall be countermanded by His Majefly.

VI. And be it further enacted, That the faid Regent, before he Regent to take fhall act or enter upon his faid Office of Regent, fhall take the fol- the following lowing Oaths:

I DO fincerely promife and fwear, That I will be faithful and bear true Allegiance to His Majesty King George.

So help me GOD.' IDO folemnly promife and fwear, That I will truly and faithfully execute the Office of Regent of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, according to an Act of Parliament paffed in the Fifty first Year of the Reign of His Majefty King George the Third, intituled, An A&t [here infert the Title of this A&]; and that I will adminifter, according to Law, the Power and Authority ' vested in me by virtue of the faid Act; and that I will in all Things, to the utmost of my Power and Ability, confult and maintain the Safety Honour and Dignity of His Majefty and the Welfare of his People. So help me GOD.' IDO faithfully promife and fwear, That I fhall inviolably maintain and preferve the Settlement of the true Proteftant Religion, with the Government, Worship, Difcipline, Rights and Privileges ⚫ of the Church of Scotland, as eftablished by the Laws made there ⚫ in Prosecution of the Claim of Right, and particularly by an Act, 'intituled, An Aa for fecuring the Proteflant Religion, and Prefby. terian Church Government, and by the Acts paffed in the Parlia'ment of both Kingdoms, for Union of the Two Kingdoms.

'So help me GOD.' Which Oaths fhall be taken before His Majefty's moft Honourable Privy Council; who are hereby required and empowered to adminifter the fame, and to enter the fame in the Books of the faid Privy Council.

VII. Parliament fhall be then affembled, and fhall have been fitting for
Six Weeks immediately previous to the faid First Day of February
One thoufand eight hundred and twelve, or if Parliament fhall be
then aflembled, but fhall not have been fo fitting for Six Weeks,
then until the Expiration of Six Weeks after Parliament fhall have
been to affembled and been fitting; or if Parliament fhall not then
be affembled, then until the Expiration of Six Weeks after Parlia
ment fhall have been affembled and fitting, next after the faid First
Day of February One thoufand eight hundred and twelve, the Re-
gent fhall not have or exercife any Power or Authority to grant, in
the Name and on the Behalf of His Majefty, any Rank, Title or
Dignity of the Peerage, by Letters Patent, Writ of Summons, or
any
other manner whatever, or to fummon any Perfon to the House
of Lords by any Title to which fuch Perfon fhall be the Heir Ap-
parent, or to determine the Abeyance of any Rank, Title or Dignity
of Peerage, which now is or hereafter fhall be in Abeyance, in fa-
vour of any of the Coheirs thereof by Writ of Summons, or other-
wife.

IX. Provided alfo, and be it further enacted, That the faid Regent fhall not, until after the faid First Day of February One thoufand eight hundred and twelve, or the Expiration of fuch Six Weeks as aforefaid, have Power or Authority to grant, in the Name or on the Behalf of His Majefty, any Office or Employment whatever, in Reverfion, or to grant for any longer Term than during His Majesty's Pleafure, any Oflice, Employment, Salary or Penfion whatever, except fuch Offices and Employments in Poffeffion for the Term of the natural Life, or during the good Behaviour of the Grantee or Grantees thereof respectively, as by Law must be fo granted: Provided always, that nothing herein contained, fhall in any manner affect or extend to prevent or retrain the granting of any Penfions under the Provisions of an A&t paffed in the Thirty ninth Year of the Reign 39 G. 3. c. 110. of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Ad for the Augmentation of the Salaries of the Judges of the Courts in Weftminfter Hall, and alfo of the Lords of Seffion, Lords Commiffioners of Jufliciary, and Barons of Exchequer in Scotland; and for enabling His Majefly to grant Annuities to Perfons in certain Offices in the faid Courts of Weltminfter Hall, on their Refignation of their respective Offices; and of another A&t paffed in the Forty eighth Year of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Ad for enabling His Majefly to grant Annuities to the Judges of the Courts of Seffion, Jufliciary and Exchequer in Scotland, upon the Refignation of their Offices; and of another Act paffed in Ireland, in the 40 G. 3. (J.) c. Fortieth Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled, Au A to enable His Majefly to grant Annuities to the Lord High Chancellor, and to the Judges of the Court of King's Bench, Mafler of the Rolls, Judges of the Courts of Common Pleas and Exchequer, Judge or Commiffary of the Court of Prerogative, the Judge of the Court of Admiralty, the Chairman of the Quarter Seffions of the County of Dublin, and Affilant Barriflers of the feveral other Counties, on the Refignation of their refpective Offices; and to amend an Act paffed in the Thirty fixth Year of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Act for encreafing the Salaries of the Chief and other Judges of the Courts of King's Bench and Common Pleas, and of the Chief Baron and other Barons of the Court of Exchequer in this Kingdom; or to prevent or reftrain the granting of any Penfions out of the Revenues of the British Ter

X. XI And be it enacted, That nothing in this Act contained fhall extend or be conftrued to extend to empower the faid Regent, in the Name and on the Behalf of His Majelty, to give the Royal Affent to any Bill or Bills in Parliament, for repealing, changing, or in any refpect varying the Order and Courfe of Sycceffion to the Crown of this Realm, as the fame ftands now eftablished by an Act paffed in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of King William the Third, intituled, An Ad for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better fecuring the Rights and Liberties of the Subject; or to any Act for repealing or altering the Act made in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of King Charles the Second, intituled, An Ad for the Uniformity of 13 Car. 2. c. 4. Public Prayers and Administration of Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies, and for etablishing the Form of making, ordaining' and confecrating Bishops, Pricfts and Deacons in the Church of Eng land; or the Act of the Fifth Year of the Reign of Queen Anne,

XII. Provided also, and be it enacted, That if His faid Royal Regent refiding Highnels George Auguflus Frederick Prince of Wales fhall not continue in the Kingdom, to be refident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Marrying a Paor fhall at any time marry a Papift, then and in either of fuch cafes, all the Powers and Authorities vefted in His faid Royal Highuefs by this Act, fhall ceafe and determine.

fole Direction of His Majefty's Houfehold, except the Lord Cham berlain of His Majefty's Household, the Captain of the Yeomen of His Majefty's Guard, and the Captain of the Honourable Band of Gentlemen Penfioners. fhall be and is hereby vested in Her Majefty; and Her faid Majesty shall have the full and fole Power and Authority, by any Inftrument or Inflruments in Writing figned and fealed by Her Majefty, to nominate and appoint, in cafe of any Vacancies arifing by Refignation or Death, all the Officers and Perfons belonging to His Majefty's Household, in the refpective Departments thereof, whofe Appointment, Nomination or Removal have heretofore been made by His Majefty; except the Lord Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household, and the Gentlemen and Grooms of His Majefty's Bedchamber, His Majesty's Equerries, the Captain of the Yeomen of His Majefty's Guard, and the Captain of the Honourable Band of Gentlemen Penfioners; and the Nomination and Appointment by Her Majefty, in Manner and Form aforefaid, fhall be valid and effectual to all Intents and Purposes as if the fame had been made or done by His Majefty in the accustomed manner; and the feveral Perfons fo appointed fhall be entitled to the like Precedence, Privileges, Salaries, Wages, Profits and all other Emoluments, as the feveral Perfons now holding and enjoying the fame Offices are respectively entitled to: Provided always, that the Power and Authority given by this Act to Her Majefty, to nominate and appoint fuch Perfons of His Majesty's Household as are not hereinbefore excepted, fhall continue in force until the faid first Day of February, or the Expiration of fuch Six Weeks as aforefaid, and no longer: Provided also, that Her faid Majefty fhall not have any Power or Authority to remove any Officer in any Department of His Majesty's Household, by this Act made fubject to the Nomination or Appointment of Her Majefty, who fhall have been nominated and appointed by His Majefty: Provided alfo, That until the Expiration of fuch Period as aforefaid, no Appointment fhall be made to the Office of Lord Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household, now vacant, but that all the Duties of the faid Office fhall be performed by the Vice Chamberlain; and that during fuch Period as aforefaid, no Perfon holding the Office of Gentleman or Groom of His Majefty's Bedchamber, or being One of His Majesty's Equerries, fhall be fubject to be removed; and no Vacancy which fhall arife by Death or Refignation of any of the Grooms or Gentlemen of His Majefty's Bedchamber, or of His Majefty's Equerries, fhall be supplied or filled up, or any Appointment or Nomination made to fupply any fuch Vacancy.

XIV.
