The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Prayer by Rev. C. R. Storey.

The journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Duell introduced a bill (Int. No. 108) entitled “An act to amend the Personal Property Law, in relation to stock dividends and distributions," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Duggan introduced a bill (Int. No. 109) entitled "An act to amend the Labor Law, in relation to period of rest at night for female minors," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on labor and industry.

Mr. Pitcher introduced a bill (Int. No. 110) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, and the Legislative Law, in relation to eliminating the publication of session laws in newspapers,” which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Towner introduced a bill (Int. No. 111) entitled "An act to amend the Judiciary Law, in relation to salaries of confidential clerks to Supreme Court justices in the ninth judicial district,” which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Tolbert introduced a bill (Int. No. 112) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to temporary transfer of employees," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Towner moved that the Senate do now adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Whereupon, the Senate adjourned.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, 1921

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Mr. Hewitt introduced a bill (Int. No. 113) entitled "An act to amend the General Business Law, in relation to posting rates for lodging in hotels and inns," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Knight introduced a bill (Int. No. 114) entitled "An act to amend the Workmen's Compensation Law, generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on labor and industry.

Mr. Thayer introduced a bill (Int. No. 115) entitled "An act to amend the Poor Law in relation to the treatment and maintenance in sanitariums of tubercular poor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 116) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to the acquisition of certain toll bridges at the expense of the State," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 117) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure, in relation to fees of county clerks and clerks of courts of record," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. Walton introduced a bill (Int. No. 118) entitled "An act to amend the Justice Court Act, generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 119) entitled "An act to amend the Civil Practice Act, generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 120) entitled "An act to amend the Surrogate Court Act, generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. Ames moved that the Senate do now adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative. Whereupon, the Senate adjourned.

The journal of Friday, January 21st, was read and approved. Mr. Lowman introduced a bill (Int. No. 121) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to local ordinances limiting the speed of motor vehicles," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Lusk introduced a bill (Int. No. 122) entitled "Concurrent resolution of the Senate and Assembly proposing an amendment to section seven of article six of the Constitution, in relation to compensation of judges and associate judges of the Court of Appeals," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Thayer introduced a bill (Int. No. 123) entitled "An act to repeal chapter thirty-nine of the Laws of eighteen hundred and fifty-five, entitled 'An act to reduce the expenses of recording conveyances of real estate, in the counties of Chautauqua, Saint Lawrence and Onondaga,' ," which was read the first time, and by

unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Bloomfield introduced a bill (Int. No. 124) entitled "An act to amend chapter two hundred and forty-two of the Laws of nineteen hundred and eleven, entitled 'An act to amend, consolidate and revise the several acts relative to the city of Amsterdam,' generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Swift introduced a bill (Int. No. 125) entitled "An act to amend the Civil Service Law, in relation to retiring veterans and pensioning them," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on civil service.

Mr. Twomey introduced a bill (Int. No. 126) entitled “An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the design, construction, purchase and operation of omnibuses in the city of New York," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Gibbs introduced a bill (Int. No. 127) entitled "An act to amend the Banking Law, in relation to change of location of savings and loan associations," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on banks.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 128) entitled "An act to amend chapter two hundred and seventeen of the Laws of nineteen hundred and fourteen, entitled 'An act to provide a charter for the city of Buffalo,' in relation to the sale of surplus water," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 129) entitled "An act to amend chapter three hundred and four of the Laws of nineteen hundred and nineteen, entitled 'An act to create the board of equalization for the county of Erie for the equalization of taxes and assessments, and to define its powers and duties,' in relation to the compensation of the commissioners of equalization," which was read the first time,

and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 130) entitled "An act providing for the levy and collection of taxes and the creation of a sinking fund for the payment of the principal and interest of the Delaware avenue pavement bonds of the town of Tonawanda, Erie county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 131) entitled "An act to validate the acts and proceedings of the city of Lackawanna, its voters, officers and agents, in relation to the issuance of one hundred thousand dollar bonds of such city, issued for the construction of a permanent community memorial building, and to provide for the issuance, sale and payment of such bonds," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 132) entitled "An act to legalize and validate the acts and proceedings of the village of Depew, its voters, officers and agents, in relation to the issuance of seventy thousand dollars paving bonds; to authorize the issuance and sale of said bonds, and to provide for raising annually by tax a sum necessary and sufficient to pay the principal and interest of such bonds as they become due," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Kavanaugh introduced a bill (Int. No. 133) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to the disposition of automobile registration fees, fines and penalties," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Thayer introduced a bill (Int. No. 134) entitled "An act in relation to tax sales heretofore made by the treasurer of the county of Franklin," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.
