"There is a High School for boys consisting of between 50 and 60a High School for girls consisting of between 70 and 80-and a Select School for girls consisting of between 70 and 80. These Schools are instructed by gentlemen. In Districts No. 2, 3 and 5 there is but one School, which is taught by a Master in the winter and by a Mistress in the summer. In District No. 4, there are two Schools, both taught by Mistresses in the summer,-and one by a Master in the winter and the other by a Mistress. There are but few children sent to Private Schools. There is a School kept during the winter months for apprentices, which continues fourteen weeks and which is attended by about 70, scholars. There is also a School at the Alms-house, for the children of the No return has been received from the towns of Bradford, inmates. NOTE. Lagrange, Lee and Levant.
