requested to transmit copies of this resolution to the Senators and members of Congress from the State of New York.

Mr. Millspaugh dissented from said report.

Mr. Develin moved that said report be laid on the table and ordered printed.

Mr. Speaker put the question whether the House would agree to said motion, and it was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Parker, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend section five of the general railroad act," reported in favor of the passage of the same; which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Bigelow, from the committee on public printing, to which was referred the resolution relative to printing extra copies of the report of the commissioners to locate the Hudson River Asylum for the Insane, reported as follows: "Resolved, That 500 extra copies of the report of the commissioners to locate the Hudson River Asylum for the Insane, be printed for the use of the members of this House, and 300 copies for the use of the commissioners."

The question being on agreeing to the report,

Mr. Littlejohn moved that the same be laid on the table, until the contracts made by the Comptroller, for printing, &c., be printed and placed upon the files of the members.

"An act to establish a board of education in and for the village school district of the town of Malone, in the county of Franklin, and for other purposes."

"An act in relation to the Normal School located at Potsdam, in the county of St. Lawrence, pursuant to chapter 466 of Laws of 1866, and to levy taxes for the purposes thereof."

Mr. Potter gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate and improve the west bank of the Erie canal at Cohoes, in the county of Albany.

Mr. Lockwood gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to encourage the construction of the Southern Central railroad.

Mr. Juliand gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to change the time of the annual election of Emanuel Church, Norwich, Chenango county.

Mr. Brush gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to authorize the county of Dutchess to borrow money.

Mr. Burrows gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate the New York Transfer Company.

Also, a bill to incorporate the American Trade Company.

Mr. Oakey gave notice that he would at an early ask leave to introduce a bill to amend chapter three hundred and fifty-three, Laws of 1865, entitled "An act to amend the act in relation to the State Lunatic Asylum," passed April 10, 1865.

Also, a bill to reduce the capital of the Metropolitan Insurance Company.

Also, a bill to incorporate the Metropolitan Indemnity and Warehousing Company.

Also, a bill relative to the Howard Transportation and Storage Tank Company.

Mr. Haynes gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to provide for making the width of the roads in Suffolk county uniform.

Also, a bill for a railroad from the city line, Brooklyn, to Coney Island, propelled by steam power.

Mr. Raber gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to determine the claim to the property of John G. Lake of New York, deceased.

Mr. Jacobs gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate the sale of tickets, the checking of baggage, and the conveyance of freight on certain connecting lines of railroads in this State.

Mr. Keady gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to protect the people of Brooklyn against the extortions and impositions of the Citizens' Gas Company of said city.

Mr. Bruce gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to reduce the fare and regulate the carrying of freight on the Harlem railroad.

Also, a bill to reduce the fare and regulate the carrying of freight on the Hudson River railroad.

Mr. Develin gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate the Lower California Company.

Also, a bill to amend the several acts in relation to passengers arriving at the port of New York.

Mr. Frear gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Institution for the Savings of Merchants' Clerks,

Mr. Irving gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to protect the purchasers of hay.

Mr. O. Murphy gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to prevent officials in the city of New York from holding more than one office during the same period of time.

Mr. Blair gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce an act to facilitate travel to the Central Park, by the extension of certain railroad tracks through Lexington avenue and certain other streets in the city of New York.

Mr. Gridley gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Loaners and Trust Company of the city of New York."

Also, a bill in relation to stages and omnibus routes in the city of New York.

Also, a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Sixth Avenue Savings Bank of the city of New York.

Mr. Berryman gave notice that he would at an early ask leave to introduce a bill to limit the lien of taxes, assessments and water rents, and the commencement of action in respect of sales therefor.

Mr. Cregan gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to abolish the office of inspectors of weights and measures in the city of New York.

Mr. Sigerson gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate the berths of Balance Dry Docks in the city of New York.

Mr. M. C. Murphy gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to legalize the sale of lotteries and policies in the State of New York.

Mr. O'Reilly gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate the New York Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Halsey gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate the carriage of passenger baggage by railroad companies, and to prescribe the duties and obligations of carriers and passengers in relation thereto.

Mr. Littlejohn gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to require the several railroad companies of this State to check baggage, and sell and issue passage tickets over all connecting railroads.

Also, a bill to release to Agnes D. Clement the title of the people of the State of New York in and to certain real estate.

Mr. Younglove gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate the manufacture and sale of kerosene, earth, rock and coal oils.

Mr. W. S. Clark gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to amend an act entitled "An act to erect the village of Middleburgh, Schoharie county, into a separate road district," passed April 7, 1859.

Mr. Hitchcock gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to extend the time for the collection of taxes in the town of Whitehall, Washington county.

Mr. Penfield gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to extend Central avenue from Woodlawn cemetery to White Plains, in the towns of Yonkers and Greenburgh.

Mr. Travis gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate the Sing Sing Dry Dock Company.

Also, a bill to incorporate the Yorkville and Astoria Horse Railroad Company.

Mr. Bristol gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to amend an act entitled "An act to authorize the formation of railroad corporations, and to regulate the same," passed April 2, 1850,

Mr. Wilber gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to amend the charter of the city of Poughkeepsie. Also, a bill in relation to the equalization of assessments in the county of Dutchess.

Also, a bill to authorize the city of Poughkeepsie to borrow money. Also, a bill to authorize school district No. 1, of the town of Poughkeepsie, to borrow money.

Mr. Robertson gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to increase the pay of the Capitol Police force.

Mr. Sigerson gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to create a commission for the purpose of supplying the city of New York with gas.

Also, a bill to increase the force of the Metropolitan Fire department of the city of New York.

Mr. Creamer gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill for the improvement of the Military parade ground in Tompkins square, New York.

Also, a bill to regulate the sale of hay throughout the State.

Mr. Weed gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to provide for a Frontier police for the town of Chazy, Clinton county.

Mr. Littlejohn gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to regulate the use of certain slips, piers and wharves on the East river, in the city of New York.

Also, a bill making an appropriation to pay expenses of the collection of tolls, superintendence, ordinary repairs and maintainance of the canals for the fiscal year commencing on the first day of October, 1867.

Also, a bill making appropriations for the payment of the principal and interest of the canal debt, commencing on the first day of October, 1867, and to provide for the payment of the debt contracted under section ten of article seven of the Constitution.

Mr. Hinson gave notice that he would at an early day ask leave to introduce a bill to increase the salary of justices of sessions.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Stiles asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to provide for the construction of a bridge over the Cattaraugus creek, for the use of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation and for public use, between the town of Harmony, in the county of Chautauqua, and the town of Brant, in the county of Erie," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on roads and bridges.
