Memphis, dans toute leur gloire, n'égalèrent une pareille magnificence pour enchâsser Bélus ou Séraphis, leurs dieux, ou pour introniser leurs rois, lorsque l'Egypte et l'Assyrie rivalisaient de luxe et de richesses.

Le même architecte ne fut point ignoré ou sans adorateurs dans l'antique Grèce ; et dans la terre d'Ausonie, les hommes l'appelèrent Mulciber.
