Statements-1st, of contracts relating to light-houses; 2d, of payments of miscellaneous claims; 3d, expenditure from marine hospital fund ; 4th, contracts authorized by the Secretary of the Treasury.

SIR: In obedience to the "act concerning public contracts," approved 21st April, 1808, and the "act further to amend the several acts for the establishment and regulation of the Treasury, War, and Navy Depariments," approved the 2d March, 1809, I have the honor to transmit

1st. A statement of contracts relating to light-houses, floating lights, buoys, stakage, &c.

2d. A statement of payments made, according to law, at the Treasury of the United States, during the year 1841, for the discharge of miscellaneous claims not otherwise provided for.

3d. A statement of expenditures from the marine hospital fund, for the relief of sick or disabled seamen, during the year 1840.

4th. A statement of contracts authorized by the Secretary of the Treasury for the year 1841.
