The Assembly bill (No. 1556, Rec. No. 340) entitled “An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to a franchise tax on manufacturing and mercantile corporations," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

No. 342) entitled "An act to authorize the assessment of real property acquired by the State of New York for Barge canal terminal purposes, situated on the easterly shore of the East river, adjoining on the northerly side lands acquired by the city of New York for an approach to the Queensboro bridge, in the borough of Queens, in said city, for the benefit derived by said lands by reason of the opening and extending of a street between Vernon avenue and said lands so as to furnish access thereto," was read the third time.

Mr. G. L. Thompson moved that the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 1212, Rec. No. 213) entitled "An act to amend the Town Law, in relation to compensation of town clerks in certain towns."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.
