Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Governor.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 1600, Int. No. 1382) entitled "Concurrent resolution of the Senate and Assembly proposing an amendment to section twenty-six of article three of the Constitution, in relation to the amendment or modification of a plan of government adopted by a county," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Secretary of State.

The Assembly returned the resolution by Mr. Kirkland relative to the appointment of a committee to attend the celebration of the discovery of oil in America, with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Mr. Keck offered a resolution, in the words following:

Resolved, That a committee of two Senators be appointed to wait upon the Governor and inform him that the Senate has completed its business and is ready to adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The President appointed as such committee Messrs. Keck and Byrne.

The above named committee reported they have performed their duty.

Mr. Whitley offered a resolution, in the words following:

Resolved, That a committee of two Senators be appointed to wait upon the Assembly and inform that body that the Senate has completed its business and is ready to adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The President appointed as such committee Messrs. Whitley and Kleinfeld.

The above named committee reported that they have performed their duty.

Mr. Brereton offered a resolution, in the words following:

Resolved, That the Sergeant-at-Arms be instructed and authorized to take charge of and perform all duties required by any committee of the Senate, and shall conduct any investigation or examination authorized to be performed by said committee during the recess of the Senate.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Messrs. Hutchinson and Steingut, a committee from the Assembly, appeared in the Senate Chamber and announced the Assembly has completed its business and is ready to adjourn.

The journal of March 25th was read and approved.

Mr. Knight moved that the Senate do now adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Whereupon, the Senate adjourned sine die.

SPECIAL COMMITTEES

Pursuant to the several laws and concurrent resolutions the Temporary President appointed as members, on the part of the Senate, of the several commissions and special joint committees thereby created or continued, the following-named Senators:

Commission to investigate the subject of crime, created by chapter 460 of the Laws of 1926 and continued by chapter 123 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Baumes, Wales (and Knight ex-officio). (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, David S. Taylor, Thomas S. Rice, Colonel George E. Chandler, William Lewis Butcher and Jane Hoey.)

Commission on reorganization of State departments, created by chapter 836 of the Laws of 1926 and continued by chapter 437 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Westall, Pitcher, Brereton and Knight. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, Robert Moses and Addison B. Colvin.)

Commission on the acquisition of historic lands, created by chapter 768 of the Laws of 1926 and continued by chapter 23 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Thayer, Brown and Keck. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, Alexander Macdonald, Frank Pierpont Graves, George O. Slingerland, Rev. John J. Finn and Francis Lynch.)

Commission to revise the tenement house law, created by chapter 569 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Whitley, Hewitt, Mastick and Antin. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, Darwin R. James, Lawson Purdy and Raymond V. Ingersoll.)

Commission to investigate defects in the law of estates, created by chapter 519 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Dick, Fearon, Lipowicz and Sheridan. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, Louis B. Hart, George A. Slater, George A. Wingate, James A. Foley, John G. Saxe, Cornelius J. McDougald and Henry R. Chittick.)

Commission to make a comprehensive survey of the port of Buffalo and Niagara frontier district, created by chapter 348 of the Laws of 1927, Messrs. Freiberg and Campbell. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, W. J. Conners, Jr., George F. Rand, Jr., John J. Boland, George C. Lehmann, C. Hamilton Cook, Charles Upson, Harry L. Noyes, Benjamin C. Metzloff, L. S. DeGraff, Clifford Chipman and John W. Broderick.)

Special Joint Legislative Committee to continue investigation of the labor laws and industrial conditions, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Truman, Gates and Byrne.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to continue the examination and consolidation of corporation laws, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Fearon, Keck and H. D. Williams.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to continue investigation of the subject of taxation and kindred matters, pursuant to concur rent resolution, Messrs. Mastick, Hickey, J. F. Williams and Sheridan.

Special Joint Legislative Cimmittee to continue the examination of conditions of poorhouses and almshouses, pursuant to concur rent resolutions, Messrs. Wicks and Walsh.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to investigate and inquire into the investments of savings banks, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Campbell, Wheatley and Dunnigan.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to recodify the laws relating to towns, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Webb and Kirkland.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to inquire into the matter of the congestion in the courts in the second judicial district, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Thompson and Russell.

Special Joint Legislative Committee to attend the ter-centennial celebration of the discovery of oil near Cuba, New York, pursuant to concurrent resolution, Messrs. Kirkland, Wheatley and Burchill.

The Temporary President, pursuant to chapter 526 of the Laws of 1927 appointed to fill vacancies on the State Board of Canvassers Messrs. Knight and Downing.

The Temporary President of the Senate, Speaker of the Assembly, majority leader of the Assembly and minority leaders of both houses to serve as ex-officio members of all special committees.
