Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in the administration William Z. Norman. of the pension laws William Z. Norman, who was enrolled in the rected. service of the United States on the eighteenth day of January, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, at Spencer, Virginia, and assigned as a private to Company C, Eleventh Regiment Virginia Volunteer Infantry, which regiment afterwards became the Eleventh Regiment West Virginia Volunteer Infantry, shall hereafter be held and considered to have been captured by the enemy and shot and killed on or about the first day of December, eighteen hundred and sixtytwo, while in the line of duty: Provided, That no pension shall accrue prior to the passage of this Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to the heirs of Robert S. Gill, of Memphis, Tennessee, out of any funds in the Treasury of the United States not otherwise appropriated, the sum of twenty-five hundred and twenty dollars, to compensate them for injuries received by Robert S. Gill while in the employ of the Government on the Panama Canal.

Waite, widow of George B. Waite, who at the time of his death was a first sergeant on the retired list of the United States Army and a civilian employee in the Quartermaster's Department of the United States Army, the sum of one thousand and fifty dollars, as full compensation for the death of said George B. Waite, resulting from injuries received while in the discharge of his duty as a teamster in the employ of the post quartermaster at Vancouver Barracks, State of Washington, on the third day of December, nineteen hundred and

seven.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars to Douglas B. Thompson, late an employee in the service of the Isthmian Canal Commission, for the loss of a leg and consequent physical disability incident to said service.
