Cry aloud, fpare not, lift up thy Voice like a Trumpet, and thew my People their Tranfgreffion, and the Houfe of Jacob their Sins.

"Thou fhalt fpeak my Words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear. Precept must be upon Precept, Precept upon Precept, Line upon Line, Line upon Line, here a little, and there a little.

Preach the Word: Be inflant, in Seafon, out of Seafon.

* Reprove, rebuke, exhort with all Long-fuffering and Doctrine. Watch thou in all Things; do the Work of an Evangelift; make full Proof of thy Miniftry; confirming the Souls of the Difciples, and exhorting them to continue in the Faith.

y Be not negligent to flir the Brethren up, by putting them always in Remembrance of thofe Things that pertain unto, Life and Godlinefs, though they know them, and be established in the prefent Truth. And exhort, comfort, and charge every one of them, (as a Father doth his Children) that they would walk worthy of God, who hath called them unto his Kingdom and Glory. So fhalt thou be a good Minifter of Jefus Chrift; for in doing this, thou shalt both fave, thyfelf, and them that hear thee.

2 Study therefore to fhew thyfelf approved unto God, a Workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. And take

heed unto thyself and unto thy Doctrine; left that by any means, when thou haft preached to others, thou thyfelf shouldest be a Cait-away.

a Thou which teacheft another, teacheft thou not thyfelf? Thou that preachest a Man should not steal, doft thou fteal? Thou that fayeft a Man fhould not commit Adultery, doft thou commit Adultery? Thou that abhorrest Idols, doft thou commit Sacrilege? Be not thou of the Number of thofe who fay, and do not: who bind heavy Burdens, and grievous to be borne, and lay them on Mens Shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with one of their Fingers.

God having in due Times manifefted his Word through Preaching; and this being written for our Learning in the Scriptures; let thofe to whom the Word is committed, according to the Commandment of God our Saviour, open the Book in the Sight of all the People, and read in the Book, in the Law of God diftinctly, and give the Senfe, and caufe them to understand the Reading.

The Priests fhall teach the People the Difference between the Holy and the Profane; and 'cause them to difcern between the Unclean and the Clean.

They fhall be holy unto their God, and not profane the Name of their God; for the Bread of their God they do offer. And the Lord hath chofen them to minifter unto him, and to bless in the Name of the Lord.

• Let the Elders of the Church feed the Flock of God which is among them, taking the Overfight thereof, not by Constraint, but willingly; not for filthy Lucre, but of a ready Mind; neither as being Lords over God's Heritage, but being Examples to the Flock. And when the chief Shepherd fhall appear, they shall receive a Crown of Glory that fadeth not away.

f Take heed unto yourselves and to all the Flock, over the which the Holy Ghoft hath made you Overseers. For grievous Wolves fhall enter in among you, not fparing the Flock; alfo of your own felves fhall Men arife, speaking perverfe Things, to draw away Difciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember this Warning.

Thus faith the Lord God: Wo be unto the Paftors that deftroy and scatter the Sheep of my Pafture.

Wo be to the Shepherds that feed themfelves, but feed not the Flock; that have not ftrengthened the Difeafed; neither have healed that which was fick; neither have bound up that which was broken; neither have brought again that which was driven away; neither have fought that which was loft; but with Force and with Cruelty have ruled them.

i Wo be to the Priests that have violated my Law, and have profaned my holy Things; that are departed out of the Way, and have caufed many to stumble at the Law, and have corrupted

my Covenant. I alfo will make them contemptible and base before all the People, according as they have not kept my Ways, but have been partial in the Law.

If a Man defire the Office of a Bifhop, he defireth a good Work. A Bifhop then must be blameless, as the Steward of God; vigilant, and of good Behaviour, fober, just, holy, temperate; not felf-willed, not foon angry, not given to Wine, no Striker, not a Brawler, but patient; not covetous, not greedy of filthy Lucre; but a Lover of Hofpitality, a Lover of good Men; one that ruleth well his own Houfe, having his Children in Subjection with all Gravity; (for if a Man know not how to rule his own House, how shall he take Care of the Church of God?) Not a Novice, left being lifted up with Pride, he fall into the Condemnation of the Devil. Moreover he must have a good Report of them which are without, left he fall into Reproach and the Snare of the Devil: And he must hold fast the faithful Word, as he hath been taught, that he may be able by found Doctrine both to exhort and to convince the Gainfayers.

Speak thou the Things which become found Doctrine. Thefe Things fpeak, and exhort, and rebuke with all Authority. For there are many unruly and vain Talkers and Deceivers, whofe Mouths must be ftopped; wherefore rebuke them fharply, that they may be found in the Faith.

m Thefe Things command and teach. Let no Man despise thee.

Be gentle unto all Mén, apt to teach, patient; in Meeknefs inftructing those that oppofe themfelves; in all Things thewing thyfelf a Pattern of good Works; in Doctrine fhewing Uncorruptnefs, Gravity, Sincerity, found Speech that cannot be condemned; that he which is of the contrary Part may be afhamed, having no evil Thing to fay of you.

• Ordain Elders in every City. And the Things that thou hast heard of the Apostles of Chrift, the fame commit thou to faithful Men, who fhall be able to teach others alfo. But lay Hands ́fuddenly on no Man: neither be Partaker of other Mens Sins.

P Them that fin, rebuke before all, that others alfo may fear. Against an Elder receive not an Accufation, but before two or three Witneffes.

Charge fome, that they teach no other Doctrine; neither give heed to Fables and endless Genealogies, which minifter Questions rather than godly Edifying, which is in Faith. For fome have turned afide unto vain Jangling, defiring to be Teachers of the Law, and understanding neither what they fay, nor whereof they affirm.

A Man that is an Heretic, after the first and fecond Admonition, reject; knowing that he that is fuch, is fubverted and finneth, being condemned of himself.
