To the Honorable the Senate and House of We, your petitioners, the Governor and For appropri- Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah, respectfully represent that, at the present session of the Legislature, provision was made for the compilation and revision of the laws of this Territory, by the appointment of four persons to prepare such compilation and revision, and to report the same to the Legislature at its next session; That such compilation and revision has become absolutely necessary in order to preserve the laws in a convenient form, and to make them useful to the people of the Territory; Therefore, be it resolved, by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah, that Congress is hereby requested to appropriate the sum of five thousand dollars to assist in the payment of the expense of the publication of such compilation and revision.
