BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the sixteenth day of May, in the thirty-third rear of the Independence of the United States of America, WILLIAM CRANCH, of the said district, bath deposited in this office, the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as author, in the words and figures following, to wit:
“ Reports of Cases, argued and adjudged in the Supreme Court of the “United States, in the years 1807, and 1808. Potius ignoratio juris liti“giosa est, quam scientia. - Cic. de Leg. Dial. 1. By William Cranch, - Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia. Vol IV.”
IN CONFORMITY to the act of the Congress of the United States, entitled, “An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps,
charts and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies duSring the times therein mentioned;" and also to an act, entitled, "An act, “ supplementary to an act, entitled an act for the encouragement of learn. “ing, by securing the copies of maps, charts and books, to the authors and
proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and ex. tending the benefits thereof to the arts of designing, engraving and etching “historical, and other prints.”
