Kansas. Convicted of treason or felony, insane, under guardianship; also, public embezzlers, persons guilty of bribery or dishonorably discharged soldiers from the United States service unless reinstated.

Kentucky.-Convicted of treason, felony, or bribery in an election, idiots, and insane; no soldier, seaman, or marine deemed

a resident because stationed in the state.

Louisiana.-Idiots, insane, felons, under indictment, inmates of prison or charitable institution except soldiers' home.

Maine.-Paupers and Indians not taxed, under guardianship, or a person unable to read the Constitution in English and to write his name.

Maryland.-Felons not pardoned, lunatics, non compos mentis,

bribery.

Massachusetts.-Paupers and persons under guardianship.
Michigan.-Indians with tribal relations.

Minnesota.—Convicted of treason or felony, unpardoned, under guardianship, insane, Indians lacking customs of civilizations.

Mississippi.-Insane, idiots, Indians not taxed, felons, persons who have not paid taxes, bigamists.

Missouri.-Persons in poorhouses or asylums at public expense, those in prison, or convicted of infamous crime; also, soldiers (except those living in soldiers' homes), sailors and marines in the United States service.

Montana. Felons not pardoned, idiots, insane, Indians who have not severed tribal relations; also, soldiers, sailors and marines in the United States service.

Nebraska.-Convicted of treason or felony, unless restored to civil rights, person non compos mentis; no soldier, seaman, or

marine deemed a resident because stationed in the state.

Nevada.-Idiots, insane, unpardoned convicts, Chinese.

New Hampshire.-Paupers, insane, idiots, and those unable to read and write English.

New Jersey.-Idiots, paupers, insane, convicted of certain crime, unless pardoned or restored by law; no soldier, seaman,

or marine deemed a resident because stationed in the state.

New Mexico.-Convicted of felony unless pardoned, United States soldier, sailor, or camp follower, Indians.

New York.-Offenders against elective franchise rights, guilty of bribery, betting on elections, and persons convicted of a felony and not restored to citizenship by the executive, convicts in house of refuge or reformatory not disqualified.

North Carolina.-Convicted of felony or infamous crime, idiots, lunatics, or persons unable to read and write, and whose

ancestor was not entitled to vote prior to January 1, 1867.

North Dakota.-Under guardianship, tribal Indians, persons non compos mentis, or convicted of felony or treason unless pardoned.

Ohio.-Idiots, insane, and felons, persons in United States military and naval service on duty in Ohio.

Oklahoma. Felons (unless restored to civil rights), idiots, insane, paupers (except Federal and Confederate ex-soldiers); unable to read and write section of Constitution.

Oregon.-Idiots, insane, convicted of felony, Chinese.

Pennsylvania.-Convicted of perjury and fraud as election officers, or bribery of voters.

Rhode Island.-Paupers, lunatics, or persons non compos mentis, sentenced to state prison for one year or more takes away

right to vote until restored by General Assembly, under guardianship.
