editor, Soto, responsible for the libelous articles,
has made public retraction of his charges. The
Minister requests that he be instructed not to press
the matter further.

applied to the National Bank of Santo Domingo
for a loan, subject to approval by the United States.

uty Receiver General of Dominican customs of the
terms of a bill introduced in the Dominican Con-
gress authorizing a loan of $1,500,000.

and views of the Dominican President as to the

President of this Government's approval in princi-

past tend to recur, as now seems likely.
