1 SECT. 6. The lines, beyond which no wharf or 2 ier shall be extended from Crow Island, commence 3 at a point thirteen hundred and forty feet westerly from 4 he west line of Water Street, in Fairhaven, and forty 5 feet north of the parallel of Centre Street; thence, 6 three hundred and sixty feet westerly, in said line; 7 thence, a line northerly, at an angle of sixty-eight 8 degrees, ten hundred and sixty feet; thence, a line 9 easterly, at an angle of ninety degrees, seven hundred 10 and sixty feet; thence, a line southerly, at an angle of 11 ninety-five degrees, one hundred and eighty-nine feet ; 12 thence, a line southerly, at an angle of one hundred and 13 forty-four degrees, eight hundred and fifty-nine and 14 six tenths feet, to the place of beginning, making an 15 angle of one hundred and forty-three degrees with the 16 line first described.

17 The said lines, thus described, are the lines reported 18 by a commissioner, under the resolve passed the eighth 19 of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty-six, 20"relating to the survey of the harbor of New Bed21 ford," and by said commissioner drawn and defined 22 on a map by him taken, and deposited in the library 23 of the Commonwealth, duplicates of which have also 24 been deposited with the city authorities of New Bed25 ford, and with the town clerk of Fairhaven.

SECT. 7. No wharf, pier, building, or incumbrance 2 of any kind, shall hereafter be extended beyond the 3 said lines, or either of them, into or over the tide4 water in said harbors; nor shall any wharf or pier, 5 which is now erected on the inner side of either of 6 said lines, be extended farther towards the said line 7 than such wharf or pier now stands, or than the same

8 might have been lawfully enlarged or extended before 9 the passing of this act, without leave being first ob10 tained from the legislature.

SECT. 8. Every person offending against the pro2 visions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misde3 meanor, and shall be liable to be prosecuted therefor, 4 by indictment or information, in any court of compe5 tent jurisdiction, and, on conviction, shall be punished 6 by a fine not less than one thousand dollars, nor more 7 than five thousand dollars, for every offence; and 8 any erection or obstruction, which shall be made con9 trary to the provisions and intent of this act, shall be 10 liable to be removed and abated as a public nuisance, 11 in the manner heretofore provided for the removal 12 and abatement of nuisances on the public highway.

SECT. 9. This act shall take effect from and after 2 its passage.

AN ACT

Establishing additional Terms of the Probate Court in the County of Middlesex.

BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Probate courts, in addition to those now by law re2 quired to be held in the county of Middlesex, shall 3 be held at Lowell on the first Tuesday of March and 4 third Tuesday of September, and at Cambridge on 5 the second Tuesday of June and third Tuesday of 6 December, in each year.
