Mr. Lent presented a petition of the New York Protestant Episcopal Public School, for authority to exchange or sell certain gores of land, which was read and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Andrews, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the Assemly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to revise, amend and consolidate the several acts relating to the charter of the village of Rome,' passed April 5, 1853," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Kline, from the committee on manufactures, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend the act passed April 11, 1860, chapter 269, entitled 'An act to amend the act entitled 'An act to authorize the formation of corporations for manufacturing, mining and chemical purposes,'' passed February 17th, 1848," reported in favor of the passage. of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole. Mr. O'Donnell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend title 9, part 1, chapter 20, Revised Statutes, of excise and the regulation of taverns and groceries," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Gibson asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to prevent animals from running at large in the public highways,' passed April 23, 1862," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. T. Murphy asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to authorize the towns of Morrisania and West Farms, to widen, make, extend and improve a highway in said towns, to be called the 'Southern Boulevard," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on roads and bridges.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Sutherland asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the White Plains Water Works Company," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Platt asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to facilitate the construction of the Whitehall and Plattsburgh railroad," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on finance.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. La Bau asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Board of Domestic Missions of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church," which was read
