"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act providing for the erection of a public hall in the village of Palmyra, and the means of paying the expenses thereof,' passed April 10, 1866."

Ordered, That the Clerk return said bills to the Assembly.

The Assembly returned the concurrent resolution relative to the adoption of the joint rules, with a message that they had concurred in the passage of the same without amendment.

The Assembly returned the bill entitled "An act to amend the act passed February 16, 1857, entitled 'An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to authorize the formation of corporations for manufacturing, mining, mechanical or chemical purposes,' passed February 17, 1848,'" with a message that they had passed the same with the following amendment: Section 1, line 13, engrossed bill, after the word "directors" insert the words "or trustees."

Mr. Kline presented a petition of Sarah Haight, for relief, which was read and referred to the committee on claims.

Mr. T. Murphy presented a remonstrance of citizens of New York, against the use of steam in Fourth avenue, in New York, which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Mr. H. C. Murphy presented a petition of Henry Leslie Pell, for change of name, which was read and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Campbell, from the committee on agriculture, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend an act to prevent the introduction of the disease known as the rinderpest, and for the protection of the flocks and herds of sheep and cattle in this State from destruction by this and other infectious diseases," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole. Mr. Low, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act in relation to the fare on the Grand Street and Newtown Railroad Company, of Brooklyn," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole. Mr. Low, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act in regard to inflammable substances on railroads," reported in favor of the passage of the same, with amendments, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Low, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend section 290 of chapter 389 of the Laws of 1851, relating to the election of directors for the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Company, by the common council of the city of Rochester," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. H. C. Murphy, from the joint library committee, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to appropriate money for the purchase of objects of Natural History for the State Cabinet," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.
