Mr. Low, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act appointing railroad commissioners of the town of Johnstown, and modifying their powers and duties," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. White gave notice that he would, at an early day, ask leave to introduce a bill to authorize the Baptist Society of the town of Spafford, to sell their church edifice.

Mr. Nicks gave notice that he would, at an early day, ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate "The Corning Institute."

By unanimous consent, Mr. Wolcott asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act for the relief of George Pettys, and to release to the heirs-at-law of August Pegunnot, late of the town of Palermo, and county of Oswego, deceased, the right, title and interest of the State of New York, in and to certain surplus moneys," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on finance.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Gibson asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend the several acts in relation to Union village, in the county of Washington, and to change the name of said village to Greenbush," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Chambers asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to provide for the final closing up by the President, Directors and Company of the Catskill Bank," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on banks.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Parsons asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend an act in relation to a tax on dogs in the city of Rochester, Monroe county, passed April 17, 1866," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

In pursuance of previous notice, Mr. Lent asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act authorizing the New York Society for Relief of Ruptured and Crippled,' to hold real and personal estate," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Mr. Parsons moved that the bill entitled "An act to authorize the construction of enlarged locks upon the Erie and Oswego canals, and to provide the means to pay the expense thereof," be recommitted to the committee on canals, and retain its place on general orders.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The Assembly returned the concurrent resolution relative to pensions for the soldiers of the war of 1812.

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said resolution to the office of the Secretary of State.

Mr. Parsons presented a petition of 100 citizens of the village of Fairport, for a bridge across the Erie canal on Parker street; which was read and referred to the committee on canals.

Also, a petition of Henry Root and other citizens of Monroe county, for the passage of a bill to enlarge the locks on the Erie and Oswego canals; which was read and referred to the committee on canals.

Also, a petition of E. W. Young and other citizens of Brockport, Monroe county, asking for repeal of the law letting the canals for repairs by contract, and to adopt some more complete measure; which was read and referred to the committee on canals.

Mr. Wolcott presented twenty petitions in favor of granting the Metropolitan Transit Company the right to construct their proposed railways; which were read and referred to the committee on railroads.

Mr. Sessions presented a petition of citizens of Randolph, Cattaraugus county, for a charter of their village; which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Mr. Andrews presented a petition of inhabitants of Herkimer county, for additional canal piers in New York; which was read and referred to the committee on commerce and navigation.

Mr. Lent presented a petition of citizens of the Sixteenth ward of New York, for charter of Clinton Savings Institution; which was read and referred to the committee on banks.

Mr. H. C. Murphy presented the report of the Brooklyn Institute for the year 1866; which was laid on the table and ordered printed.

Maver and others, for the passage of an act for the draining of certain lands in Niagara county, reported by bill entitled "An act appointing Stephen F. Gooding, Lewis Daggett and Hezekiah W. Nichols, commissioners for draining certain lands in the town of Cambria, county of Niagara," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Andrews, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend the several acts in relation to Union village, in the county of Washington, and to change the name of said village to Greenwich," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Collins, from the committee on canals, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act authorizing the Canal Board to appoint a canal boat inspector at Whitehall, in the county of Washington," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Wolcott, from the committee on public printing, to which was referred the resolution to print extra copies of the report of the State Engineer and Surveyor on the enlargement of the Champlain canal, and the improvement of the Hudson river, reported in favor of the adoption of the following resolution:

Resolved, That 1,500 extra copies of the report of the State Engineer and Surveyor on the enlargement of the Champlain canal and the improvement of the Hudson river from Troy to Fort Edward, with the documents accompanying the same, be printed for the use of the Senate.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Wolcott, from the committee on public printing, to which was referred the concurrent resolution to print extra copies of the annual report of the trustees of the New York State Institution for the Blind, reported in favor of the adoption of the following resolution:

Resolved, (if the Senate concur,) That 500 extra copies of the annual report of the Trustees of the New York State Institution for the Blind, be printed for the use of the officers of that institution.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk return said resolution to the Assembly, with a message informing that the Senate have concurred in the passage of the same, without amendment.

Mr. White, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the petition of citizens of Skaneateles, for amendment of charter, reported by bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to condense and amend the several acts incorporating or relating to the village of Skaneateles,' ,"" which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act in relation to the Morrisville Union School," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to increase the salary of the office of school commissioner," reported the same to the Senate for its consideration, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize School District No. 1, of the town of Poughkeepsie, in the county of Dutchess, to borrow money for the purpose of completing a school building in said district, and to provide for the payment thereof," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the town of Le Roy, in the county of Genesee, to raise ten thousand dollars for the benefit of the Le Roy Academic Institute," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Godard, from the committee on engrossed bills, reported as correctly engrossed the bills entitled as follows:

"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the village of Port Richmond, in the county of Richmond,' passed April 24, 1866." "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the Young Men's Christian Association of the city of New York.'"

The Assembly sent for concurrence the bill entitled as follows: "An act to amend chapter 10 of the Laws of 1867, entitled ‘An act authorizing the extension of the time for the collection of taxes in the several towns and cities of this State, for the year 1867,' passed January 30, 1867," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judi ciary.

Mr. Williams gave notice that he would, at an early day, ask leave to introduce a bill to amend the law relating to a highway district in Ledyard.

Mr. Humphrey gave notice that he would, at an early day, ask leave to introduce a bill to amend an act incorporating the village of Warsaw.
