"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the Trust Company of Onondaga,' passed May 4, 1866, by creating a new board of trustees, and extending the time to go into operation."

"An act appointing Stephen F. Gooding, Lewis Daggett and Hezekiah W. Nichols, commissioners for draining certain lands in the town of Cambria, county of Niagara."

"An act to incorporate the Jerome Park Villa Site and Improvement Company."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Wolcott, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the two first named bills, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bills ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Wolcott, from the same committee, reported in favor of the passage of the last named bill, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate again resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of general orders, being the bills entitled as follows;

"An act to confer additional powers upon the American Jockey Club." "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act authorizing Wm. C. Bronson to convey certain waters by means of pipes along the highways of the town of Erwin,' passed May 2, 1864."

"An act to change the name of the Rutger's Female Institute' to 'Rutger's Female College,' and in relation to said college."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Sessions, from said coinmittee, reported in favor of the passage of the first and last named bills, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bills ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Sessions, from the same committee, reported in favor of the passage of the second named bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Sutherland and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Westchester to borrow money on the credit of the county," was recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, with power to report complete.

Mr. Gibson moved that the Senate now adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Campbell and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act in relation to common schools in the city of Utica," was recommitted to the committee on literature, with power to report complete.

The Senate again resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of general orders, being the bills entitled as follows:

"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend and consolidate the charter of the village of Middletown,' passed March 31, 1866."

"An act to amend an act entitled 'An an act to prevent animals from running at large in the public highways,' passed April 23, 1862, and to create a short bar to actions arising under said act."

Assembly, "An act to more particularly define the duties of overseers of highways, and their appointment, in conformity with the provisions of chapter 522 of Laws of 1865."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mi. Barnett, from said committee, reported that they have made some amendments to the first named bill, and amended the title so as to read "An act to abolish the office of police justice of the village of Middletown, and in relation to publication of notices," and as amended, recommend its passage, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Barnett, from the same committee, reported progress on the two last named bills, and asked and obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. Gibson moved that the second named bill be printed.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Pierson and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to create a department of charities and correction in the county of Kings," was referred to the Senators from Kings county, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Wolcott and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to release to Agnes D. Clement, the title of the people of the State of New York, in and to certain real estate," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Lent and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Stuyvesant Safe Deposit Company of the city of New York," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete. On motion of Mr. Pierson, the Senate adjourned.

The journal of yesterday was read and approved.

The President presented the report of commissioners of Central Park, relative to the west side improvement; which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Also, the report of the State of New York Hospital and Bloomingdale Asylum for the year 1866; which was laid on the table and ordered printed.

Also, a communication from the Metropolitan Police Department, in reply to a resolution of the Senate, requesting them to transmit a copy of general order 489; which was laid on the table and ordered printed.

Mr. Lent presented six remonstrances of citizens of New York, against the bill to authorize the Metropolitan Transit Company to construct railway in New York; which were read and referred to the committee on railroads.

Also, a remonstrance of property owners and residents on Fifth avenue and vicinity, against extension of Fifth avenue to Battery; which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Mr. Pierson presented a petition of ship owners in New York and Brooklyn, for amendment to pilot laws; which was read and referred to the committee on commerce and navigation.

Mr. E. Cornell presented two petitions of citizens of Binghamton, for city charter; which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

, Mr. Parsons presented two petitions of John Green and others, to repeal the law by which the canals are let out for repairs by contract; which was read and referred to the committee on canals.

Mr. Parsons presented a petition of Joseph King, for survey of canal from Rochester to Lake Ontario; which was read and referred to the committee on canals.

Also, four petitions of citizens of Rochester, for enlarged locks on Erie canal; which was read and referred to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Andrews presented a petition of citizens of Otsego county, for State aid to complete Albany and Susquehanna railroad; which was read and referred to the committee of the whole.

The President presented a communication from the Metropolitan Board of Health, upon danger of epidemic cholera; which was read and referred to the committee on commerce and navigation.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to confirm and legalize the action of the president, directors and company of the Albany and Schenectady Turnpike Company, in abandoning a portion of their roadway in the city of Schenectady," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. O'Donnell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the White Plains Water Works Company," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.
