The bill entitled "An act to authorize the trustees of the village of Cooperstown to borrow money for the purpose of purchasing fire engines," was read a third time.

The Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend section 8 of chapter 183 of the Laws of 1866, relating to the raising of moneys for the erection of a town hall in the village of Cold Spring, Putnam county," was read a third time.

The bill entitled "An act to create a Metropolitan Harbor District, and to establish a board of piers and wharves therein," having been announced for a third reading,

On motion of Mr. H. C. Murphy and by unanimous consent, said bill was amended by adding at the end of section 17, the following:

"Nothing in the act contained shall prevent the use by the Brooklyn City Railroad Company for the purposes of their railroads, during the continuance of their charter, of the wharf at the foot of Fulton street in the city of Brooklyn, as the same is now used and enjoyed by said company."

Said bill, as amended, was read a third time.

Mr. Lent, moved that the bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the Citizen's Savings Bank of the city of New York,' passed April 5th, 1860," be laid upon the table.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Corning Institute," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. White, from the committee on literature, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize school district No. 4, in the town of Greece, to raise money on its bonds for the purpose of building a school house," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. E. Cornell, from the committee on banks, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to provide for the final closing up of the affairs of the president, directors and company of the Catskill Bank," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate then resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of general orders, being the bills entitled as follows:

"An act to secure the navigation of the Oneida Lake canal, and to provide for the payment of the expenses thereof,"

"An act to provide for the construction of an experimental line of railway in the counties of New York and Westchester."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Crowley, from said committee, reported progress on the first named bill, and asked and obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. Crowley, from the same committee, reported in favor of the passage of the last named bill, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Humphrey and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to legalize and confirm any acts or proceedings heretofore passed or adopted by the trustees of the village of Portageville, in the county of Wyoming, and to enlarge their powers and duties; also to establish a separate road district in said yillage," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act to constitute the village of Belmont, in the county of Allegany, a separate road district, and to confer additional powers upon the trustees thereof," was recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Bennett and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Odd Fellows' Hall Association of Buffalo," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Williams and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the village of Moravia, in the county of Cayuga, and to repeal existing laws incor porating said village,' passed March 15, 1859," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize George H. Brinkerhoff, David Tompkins and Cornelius D. Dewitt to sell and convey, as trustees, the church property of the True Reformed Dutch Church of Owasco, in the county of Cayuga," was recommitted to the committee on charitable and religious societies, with power to report complete.

Mr. T. Murphy moved that the bill entitled "An act for the protec tion of persons traveling upon Fourth avenue, in the city of New York," be made the special order for Tuesday morning, after third reading of bills.

Mr. Sutherland moved to amend, by making it "Tuesday evening." The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the motion to amend, and it was decided in the negative.

The President then put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion of Mr. T. Murphy, and it was decided in the affirmative, two-thirds of all the Senators present voting in favor thereof.

On motion of Mr. Collins and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to promote the public health in the city of Albany by removal of human remains from certain cemeteries in said city," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act authorizing the commissioners of highways of the towns of Guilderland and New Scotland, in the county of Albany, to lay out and open a certain highway extending in said towns, of the width of two rods," was recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. H. C. Murphy and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to alter the map or plan of the city of New York, by discontinuing so much of Hamilton square laid down on the said map or plan as lies between Fourth and Fifth avenues and Sixty-sixth and Sixty-eighth streets, in said city," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Chambers and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the village of Coxsackie," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Crowley and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to legalize certain acts of the Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge Company, and give additional privileges to said company," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the village of Holley," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. T. Murphy and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the St. Gabriel's Temperance Benevolent Society of New York," was recom mitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.
