Mr. Pierson, from the committee on commerce and navigation, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to declare the Black river within certain limits a public highway, and to prohibit the erection or maintenance of obstructions therein," with power to report complete, reported that they have made some amendments thereto, and amended the title so as to read "An act to prohibit the erection or maintenance of booms or other obstructions in certain portions of Black river, in Jefferson county," and as amend, reported the same complete, and recommend its passage, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Sutherland and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to extend and amend the act entitled 'An act to incorporate the Westchester County Mutual Insurance Company,' passed March 14, 1837,' passed March 7, 1857," was recommitted to the commitee on insurance, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Godard the Senate adjourned.
