Mr. Platt moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, retaining its place on third reading of bills.

The bill entitled "An act to allow the persons associated as the Sigma Phi Society, to incorporate under chapter 419 of the Laws of 1848, and to take and hold real and personal estate," was read a third time.

York, of, in and to certain real estate in the town of Lisbon, aforesaid, and render valid the last will and testament of the said Robert Robinson, and the probate thereof," was read a third time.

Mr. Platt moved that the bill entitled "An act to authorize the town of Queensbury, in the county of Warren, to issue bonds to aid in the construction of a railroad from the village of Glens Falls to intersect the Saratoga and Whitehall Railroad," be recommitted to the committee on railroads, to report complete.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. La Bau and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled "An act to incorporate the village of Jamaica, county of Queens, into a separate school district, and to establish free schools therein,' passed July 18, 1853," was recommitted to the committee on literature, with power to report complete.

Also, the bill entitled "An act to amend an act passed 1853, chapter 117, entitled 'An act to authorize the formation of companies for the erection of buildings,'" was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Lent and by unanimous consent the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to amend the charter of the Market Savings Bank," was recommitted to the committee on banks, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Sutherland and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to extend the powers of the commissioners appointed by an act entitled 'An act to authorize the town of Yonkers to improve Riverdale avenue from Yonkers to Kingsbridge,' passed April 6th, 1865," was recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Collins and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act abolishing the Mayor's court of the city of Albany," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. O'Donnell and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act for the suppression of the trade in and circulation of obscene literature, illustrations, advertisements, and articles of indecent or immoral use, and obscene advertisements of patent medicines," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Mr. O'Donnell offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Senate hold a session this evening, at 7 o'clock, for consideration of bills on special calendar and general orders.

On motion of Mr. Williams and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the following entitled Assembly bills recommitted to the committee on charitable and religious societies, with power to report complete, to wit:

"An act to authorize the trustees of the late First Presbyterian Church of Ira, Cayuga county, to sell church property."

"An act to authorize the First Free Methodist Church in Clyde to sell and convey a portion of their church property."

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act providing for the establishment and maintenance of a public Park in the village of Palmyra,” was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act to legalize the acts and proceedings of Elijah E. Brown, as justice of the peace of the town of Niles, Cayuga county," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to authorize the common council of the city of Lockport to purchase real estate and erect thereon a house for the accommodation of Hydrant Hose Company No. 1, of said city," reported in favor of the passage of the same.

On motion of Mr. Crowley and by unanimous consent, the rule was suspended, and said bill recommitted to the committee to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Folger and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the following entitled Assembly bills recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete:

"An act to amend the act entitled 'An act to provide for filling vacancies in office,' passed February 3, 1849, and in relation to removals from office."

"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act in relation to suits by and against joint stock companies and associations,' passed April 7, 1849, and authorizing such companies and corporations to purchase and hold real estate."

On motion of Mr. H. C. Murphy and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act releasing the interest of the State in certain lands and premises owned by Anthony Bollermann, Carl Bollermann or Joseph Bollermann, and authorizing their heirs-atlaw to hold and convey the same," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Pierson and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to release to Henry N. Wickes the title and interest of the people of the State of New York, in and to certain lands in the county of Kings, conveyed to him by Mary Anne Tout, Herbert S. Marsden, Henry J. Marsden, heirs-at-law of Henry H. Marsden, deceased," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Mr. Andrews offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate be directed to furnish ot each of the clerks of the Senate committees, and to the messenger of the President, Sergeant-at-arms, Postmaster and Clerk, five copies of the Manual

of 1867.
