The Assembly sent for concurrence the bill entitled as follows: "An act to ratify and confirm the action of the mayor and common council of the city of Syracuse in closing an alley, and to authorize the altering and straightening of Genesee street in said city," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Crowley asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 729 of the Laws of 1865, entitled 'An act to amend section 62 of article 5 of title 3 of chapter 1 of part 4 of the Revised Statutes, relative to robbery, embezzlement and larceny," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary. By unanimous consent, Mr. La Bau asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to divide school district No. 1 of the towns of Middletown and Castleton, into two separate school districts," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on literature.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Wolcott asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend the several acts incorporating the village of Pulaski, in the county of Oswego," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

By unanimous consent, Mr. O'Donnell asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to consolidate the villages of Watertown and North Watertown for educational purposes, and to amend an act entitled 'An act in relation to the public schools in the village of Watertown,' passed April 21, 1865," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on literature.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Gibson asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to provide for the construction of an armory for the Thirtieth Regiment," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on militia and public defence.

The Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the common council of the city of Utica to borrow money to erect school houses," was read a third time.

On motion of Mr. Andrews and by unanimous consent, said bill was amended by striking out section 33, and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

"§ 33. This act shall take effect whenever a majority of the electors qualified to vote for members of Assembly, in the village of Binghamton, shall indicate by vote that they are in favor of organizing under this act. The vote may be cast at any regular election of said village, or at a special election to be held for that purpose in pursuance of law." Said bill, as amended, was read a third time.
