On motion of Mr. Low and by unanimous consent, said bill was amended by adding at the end of section one, the following:

There shall be appropriated the sum of $50,000 for each of the years 1867 and 1868, from the moneys to be raised under the provisions of this act, for the building and erection of a school building for colored children. The said building to be erected by the board of education as other school buildings are erected."

On motion of Mr. Pierson and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend chapter 196 of the Laws of 1854, regulating pilot age of the port of New York,' passed March 17, 1865," was recommitted to the committee on commerce and navigation, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Soldier's Home, in the city of Brooklyn," was recommitted to the committee on militia and public defense, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. C. G. On motion of Mr. Lent and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act further to amend the act for the incorporation of insurance companies," was recommitted to the committee on insurance, with power to report complete.

Mr. Gibson offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Senate hold a session this evening, at 7 o'clock, for consideration of bills on preferred calendar and general orders.

On motion of Mr. Wilbor and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend section 3 of an act passed March 30, 1866, entitled 'An act for the preservatian of fish in Kinderhook lake and waters adjacent thereto," was recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, with power to report complete.

Mr. Kline, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend section 3 of chapter 817 of the Laws of 1866, entitled 'An act to lay out and construct a road from the river road, in township No. 14, in the town of Johnsburgh, to the Carthage road near the head of Long Lake, in the county of Hamilton," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with

amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Kline, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act in relation to a certain highway and certain highway taxes in the county of Hamilton," reported in favor of the passage of the same, with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Kline and by unanimous consent, the rule was suspended, and said bill recommitted to the committee, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Platt and by unanimous consent the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to construct a highway from Adirondac to Saranac,' passed April 30, 1864," was recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, with power to report complete.

Also, the Assembly bill entitled "An act releasing all right, title and interest of the people of the State of New York in and to certain lands, and granting power to convey and receive payment for the same," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Godard and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act authorizing the board of supervisors of St Lawrence to raise by tax upon said county, a sum sufficient to refund to such towns as have furnished relief under section 21 of chapter 8 of the Laws of 1864, such sums as they have respectively expended," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Wolcott and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act in relation to the Third Avenue Savings Bank of the city of New York," was recommitted to the committee on banks, with power to report complete.
