Mr. Campbell, from the committee on agriculture, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the Steuben Agricultural Society to sell, lease or convey the real estate belonging to said society," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Kline, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to authorize the Johnstown and Pleasant Valley Plankroad Company to abandon their road and declaring said road a public highway," reported in favor of the passage of the same.

On motion of Mr. Kline and by unanimous consent, the rule was suspended and said bill recommitted to the committee to report complete. The Senate then resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of the special order, being the Assembly bill entitled as follows:

"An act making appropriations for the support of Government."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Parsons, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of said bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Andrews, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend and consolidate the several acts relating to the village of Ilion,' passed March 8th, 1865, and to confirm the official acts of the police justice in said village," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act authorizing St. Luke's Hospital, in the city of New York, to hold and convey certain lands for the benefit of the trustees of St. Luke's Retreat, in the city of New York," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act authorizing the preparation of a Maunal for the use of the Convention to revise and amend the Constitution," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Campbell, from the committee on agriculture, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to provide for the collection of agricultural statistics in the several counties of this State,' passed April 17, 1862," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

On motion of Mr. Folger and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act relating to schools in the town of Seneca Falls," was referred to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Campbell and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to provide for the better regulation of pawn-brokers, dealers in second-hand articles and keepers of junk shops," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

The Assembly returned the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the city of Binghamton," with a message that they have concurred in the first and second amendments of the Senate to the said entitled bill, and have non-concurred in the last amendment, and have appointed Messrs. Van Valkenburg, Phillips, Younglove, Weed and Millspaugh, as a committee of conference on the part of the Assembly, and request a like committee on the part of the Senate.

Mr. E. Cornell moved that a committee be appointed on the part of the Senate.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Messrs. E. Cornell, Andrews and Chambers, were appointed as such committee on the part of the Senate.

The Assembly returned the bill entitled "An act to provide for draining certain swamp lands situated in the towns of Waterloo, Junius, Seneca Falls and Tyre, in the county of Seneca," with a message that they had passed the same with the following amendment:

Section 1, line 1, strike out the letter "R" and insert the letter "H," so that the name will read "Myron H. Cosad."

Mr. Folger moved that the Senate concur in said amendment. The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to concur, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the members elected to the Senate voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths of said members being present, as follows:

"An act to authorize the construction of an iron bridge over the Genesee Valley canal, in the village of Mount Morris."

"An act making appropriation for the completion of the New York State Institution for the Blind at Batavia."

"An act to construct a bridge over Tonawanda creek, in the village

of Tonawanda, in the counties of Erie and Niagara, and to provide the means therefor."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Chambers, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the two first named bills, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bills ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Chambers, from the same committee, reported progress on the last named bill, and asked and obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. H. C. Murphy moved to take from the table the bill entitled "An act consenting to the purchase by the United States of land in the city of Brooklyn, adjacent the Navy Yard, and for ceding jurisdiction over the same, and closing a part of Little street."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to take from the table, and it was decided in the affirmative. Said bill was then read a third time.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Humphrey asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 51 of the Laws of 1867, entitled 'An act to amend an act to incorporate the village of Warsaw,' passed March 17, 1860, so as to enable the trustees thereof to fix and prescribe the fire limits therein," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Humphrey and by unanimous consent, the rule was suspended, and said bill referred to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete..

"An act to authorize the Canal Commissioners to construct a highway bridge over the Erie canal in the village of Fairport, in the county of Monroe."

"An act relative to the action of the board of supervisors of the county of New York, under chapter 864 of the Laws of 1866, in refunding taxes paid by corporations whose capital was invested in certificates of indebtedness of the United States."

"An act to amend chapter 199 of the Laws of 1858."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. C. G. Cornell, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the first named bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.
