The bill entitled "An act relating to schools in the town of Seneca. Falls," having been announced for a third reading,

Mr. Folger moved to recommit the same to the committee on literature, with instructions to substitute therefor the Assembly bill upon the same subject and with the same title.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to recommit, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The Assembly bill entitled "An act in relation to a certain highway and certain highway takes in the county of Hamilton," was read a third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the members elected to the Senate voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths of said members being present, as follows:

Ordered, That the Clerk return said bill to the Assembly, with a message informing that the Senate have concurred in the passage of the same, without amendment.

The Assembly returned the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the New York Bridge Company, for the purpose of constructing and maintaining a bridge over the East river, between the cities of New York and Brooklyn," with a message that they have passed the same, with the following amendments:

Section 1, line 2, after the word "Ruggles" insert "Smith Ely, jr." Line 3, after the word "Kalbfleisch" insert "John Roach." Line 4, after the word "Mitchell" insert "T. Bailey Myers.". Line 5, after the word "Fowler" insert "Wm, W. W. Wood." Line 6, after the word "Benson" insert "T. B. Cornell." Line 7, after the words "Van Auden" insert "Pomeroy P. Dickinson." Line 8, after "McLean " insert "John W. Combs."

Add at the end of section 1 the following: "Provided, however, that the said bridge shall be completed and opened to the public use on or before the first day of June, in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy."

Mr. H. C. Murphy moved that the Senate concur in said amendments. The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to concur, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the members elected to the Senate voting in favor thereof, as follows:

Ordered, That the Clerk return said bill to the Assembly, with a message informing that the Senate have concurred in their amendments. Mr. Kline moved that the Assembly bill entitled "An act to prevent fraud and fraudulent practices upon hotel keepers and inn keepers," be referred to the first committee of the whole not full.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative, two-thirds of all the Senators present voting in favor thereof.

On motion of Mr. White and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the city of Syracuse to issue bonds for an educational purpose," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Also, the bill entitled "An act to authorize the board of education of the Baldwinsville union school district to borrow money," was recommitted to the committee on literature, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Folger and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to legalize the election of village officers of the village of Phelps, Ontario county, held March 19, 1867, and to authorize the respective officers elected at such election to take the oath of office, and to enter upon and continue the discharge of the duties of their respective offices," was recommited to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Westchester to purchase the Peekskill' Turnpike road," with power to report complete, reported the same com. plete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the commissioners of highways of the town of Pamelia, in the couniy of Jefferson, to raise money to build a bridge over the north branch of Black river," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to make a separate road district of the village of Wellsville," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to construct a highway from the town of Keene, in Essex county, to the State road in the town of North Hudson, in said county," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole. Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to provide for rebuilding a bridge in the town of Loraine, Jefferson county, and for raising money by tax for that purpose upon the town of Loraine in said county," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Westchester to purchase the Westchester Turnpike road,' passed March 30, 1866," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to enable the several highway districts in the town of Greenburgh, in Westchester county, west of or through which the highway known as the late Highland turnpike runs, to macadamize and otherwise improve public highways within their respective districts," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.
