The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

The journal of Saturday was read and approved.

Mr. O'Donnell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act in relation to the support of certain poor persons in the county of Fulton," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. O'Donnell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act authorizing the board of supervisors of the county of Kings to raise money for the benefit of the fire department of the town of New Lots, in the county of Kings," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. O'Donnell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act for the appropriation of certain funds belonging to the town of Wellsville," reported in favor of the passage of the same.

On motion of Mr. Humphrey and by unanimous consent, the rule was suspended, and said bill recommitted to the committee, with power to report complete.

Mr. O'Connell, from the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to improve certain water rights in the town of Pawling and elsewhere, in the county of Dutchess," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to provide for an additional Metropolitan Fire Commissioner, and to regulate and establish the pay of the members and employees of the Metropolitan Fire Department,' with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said hill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act concerning certain vagrants in the city of New York," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act creating the office of Metropolitan Fire Marshal, and prescribing its powers and duties," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was

referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act relating to the keeping and storing of combustible and explosive materials in the city of New York, and to create a bureau for the prevention of fires in said city," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to regulate the driving of cattle through the streets and avenues of the city of New York," with power to report complete, reported that they have amended the title so as to read "An act with reference to the powers of the Metropolitan Board of Health in the regulation of cattle driving and other matters," and as amended, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Lent, from the committee on insurance, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the New York Board of Fire Underwriters," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Pierson, from the committee on commerce and navigation, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 115 of the Laws of 1865, in regard to Hell Gate pilots," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Pierson, from the committee on commerce and navigation, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to prevent obstructions on the Indian river, between certain points in the counties of Jefferson and St. Lawrence," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pierson, from the committee on municipal affairs, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act for the further amendment of an act passed May 2, 1861, entitled 'An act to ameud an act entitled 'An act to lay out a public park and parade ground for the city of Brooklyn, and to alter the commissioners' map of said city,' passed April 17, 1860,’" with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to provide for raising money for the repairs of roads and bridges in the town of Truxton,' reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Humphrey, from the committee on roads and bridges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to provide for building bridges and improving highway in the town of Rodman Jefferson county, and authorizing a tax to be levied on said town for that purpose," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. La Bau from the committee on engrossed bills, reported as correctly engrossed the bills entitled as follows:

"An act to enable the board of supervisors of the county of New York to raise money by tax for certain county purposes, and to extend the powers of the Metropolitan police."

"An act to incorporate the Rensselaer County Union Monumental Association."

"An act to amend an act passed April 23, 1861, entitled 'An act supplemental to an act entitled 'An act to consolidate the cities of Brooklyn

and Williamsburgh and the town of Bushwick into one municipal government, and to incorporate the same,' passed April 17, 1854.'"

The Assembly sent for concurrence the bills entitled as follows: "An act to enable towns to raise money to erect monuments to the soldiers who have lost their lives in the military service of the United States in suppressing the late rebellion," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on militia and public defense.

"An act declaring Mill Brook, in the counties of Essex and Warren, a public highway," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on insurance.

"An act ceding to the United States jurisdiction over certain lands in the village of Niagara City, New York," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on judiciary.

"An act to alter the commissioner's map of the city of Brooklyn, and to provide for the widening and improvement of Fifteenth street in said city," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

"An act to amend the charter of the Security Life Insurance and Annuity Company," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on commerce and navigation.
