PRIVATE ACTS AND RESOLUTIONS

OF THE

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT,

PASSED AT THE SPECIAL SESSION, 1861.

At a Special Session of the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut, holden at Hartford, in said State, by order of His Excellency the Governor, on the ninth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one :

AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR TO LOAN CANNON TO THE NEW HAVEN

COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the governor of this state shall be, and he hereby is, authorized to loan the New Haven Collegiate Institute two four-pound cannon, for the use of said Institute, for such length of time and on such conditions as his excellency may think proper: provided, said guns are on hand, and not needed for public service.

AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR TO APPOINT AN ASSISTANT IN AUDITING
AND ADJUSTING THE ACCOUNTS OF THIS STATE WITH THE GOVERN-
MENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the governor of this state be, and he hereby is, authorized to appoint and associate with himself, at the expense of the state, some person, if he deem it necessary, to aid him in auditing the accounts, and arranging with the government of the United States for the reimbursement, of all or such parts of the payments out of the treasury of this state under "An Act to provide for the organization and equipment of a Volunteer Militia and to provide for the Public Defence," as provided and authorized by Resolution No. 97, of the Private Acts and Resolutions passed at the May session of this general assembly.

RESPECTING THE PUBLICATION OF THE ACTS AND RESOLVES OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AT THE SPECIAL SESSION.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the laws passed by this general assembly, at the present session, be published in the several newspapers, according to law, and that the publication of the same, and of the private acts and resolutions, in pamphlets, and the distribution thereof, be postponed until after the next regular session of the general assembly.

PROVIDING FOR THE PERFECTING OF AN ASSESSMENT LIST FOR THE BOROUGH OF DANIELSONVILLE.

Whereas, the assessors of the borough of Danielsonville, for the year 1861, have made an assessment of the polls and taxable property in said borough, according to the laws of this state and the by-laws of said borough: and whereas, the board of relief for said borough, for said year, by inadvertence and mistake, did not give notice of a meeting of said board in conformity to the by-laws of said borough, and did not meet for the discharge of their duties as such board of relief: therefore,

Resolved by this Assembly, That the board of relief for the borough of Danielsonville are hereby authorized and empowered to meet for the discharge of their duties as such board of relief, and to perfect the assessment list of said borough made by said assessors, as aforesaid, by giving ten days notice of the time and place of such meeting, in the manner prescribed in the by-laws of said borough, and when so met shall proceed in the same manner and have the same powers as if they had convened within the time required by said by-laws: and shall have power to adjourn from time to time, if necessary and the acts and doings of said board shall be deemed in all respects as valid as if the same had been done within the time required by the by-laws of said borough; and said assessment list, when so perfected by them, shall be deemed as valid as if the same had been perfected within the time required by said by-laws.
