The Senate bill (No. 248, Int. No. 246) entitled "An act to amend the charter of the city of Gloversville, generally," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

No. 28) entitled “An act to amend chapter three hundred and three of the Laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, entitled 'An act to make the office of county clerk of Dutchess county a salaried office and regulating the management of said office and fixing the salary of said clerk and his assistants,' in relation to compensation of deputies and clerks," was read the third time.

Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That there be printed 3,000 extra copies of the report of the New York State Bridge and Tunnel Commission, transmiited to the Legislature February 16th.

Mr. Dowling moved that the committee on affairs of cities be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 63, Int. No. 63) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the duties of the trustees of Hunter College of the City of New York to report to the city authorities and to prescribed regulations similar to those prescribed for the board of education," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. G. F. Thompson moved that the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 339, Int. No. 332) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation to coroners," and

that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committe on internal affairs of towns, counties and public high

ways.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Towner moved that the committee on military affairs be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 252, Rec. No. 19) entitled "An act to amend the Military Law, in relation to paying back to the State treasury certain moneys standing to the credit of military organizations disbanded pursuant to law; in relation to compensation to employees in certain armories; and in relation to emergency expenditures in armories.”

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Towner, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 30, Int. No. 23), now on the order of third reading.

Mr. Carson moved that the committee on the judiciary be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 244, Rec. No. 14) entitled "An act to legalize, ratify and confirm the action of the several boards of supervisors of the county of Yates, in auditing the accounts of the county treasurers of such county."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Carson, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 173, Int. No. 171), now on the order of third reading.

Mr. Carson moved that the committee on the judiciary be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 243, Rec. No. 20) entitled "An act to legalize the acts and proceedings of the board of supervisors of the county of Yates, in relation to the salary and expenses of the present incumbent as county superintendent of highways in such county."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Carson, and by unanimous consent, said bill was submitted for Senate bill (No. 172, Int. No. 170), now on the order of third reading.

Mr. Walters moved to take from the table the Assembly concurrent resolution relative to proposed sale of the German Fleet by the Federal Government.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Walters moved that said resolution be amended to read as follows:

Resolved (if the Senate concur), That the Legislature of the State of New York respectfully urge upon the President of the United States to defer the proposed sale of the German Merchant fleet, taken by the United States during the late war, to the International Mercantile Marine, or to any other corporation or organization whose ships do not fly the American flag; or for a sum much less than their actual value, thus preventing a great financial sacrifice, and rendering them available as naval auxiliaries in time of war; and be it further

Resolved (if the Senate concur), That copies of these resolutions be sent by the Legislature of the State of New York to the President of the United States, the chairman of the United States. Shipping Board, and to the Senators and Representatives in Congress from New York.

Ordered, That the Clerk return said resolution to the Assembly with a message that the Senate has concurred in the passage of the same, with amendments.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 297, Int. No. 292) entitled “An act to amend chapter four hundred and fifty-seven of the Laws of eighteen hundred and ninety, entitled 'An act to provide for the care, control and management of the cemetery in the ninth ward of the city of Syracuse,' in relation to the powers of the board of trustees thereof," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said bill to the mayor of the city of Syracuse for a hearing, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 346, Int. No. 335) entitled "An act making appropriations for emergencies for the current fiscal year, supplying deficiencies in former appropriations, and other expenses of government.'

Also, Senate bill (No. 239, Int. No. 237) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation to the salaries of the county judge and surrogate of Onondaga county," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bills to the Governor.
