The journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Dowling introduced a bill (Int. No. 630) entitled “An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in respect to docks, piers, harbor, port and waters, and to certain provisions of said charter relating to functions of the commissioners of the sinking fund," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 631) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the duties of the trustees of The College of the City of New York to report to the city authorities and prescribing regulations for such reports," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Dunnigan introduced a bill (Int. No. 632) entitled "An act authorizing the board of estimate and apportionment of the city of New York to assume the assessed cost of proceedings to acquire title to Tibbett avenue, from West Two Hundred and Thirtieth street to West Two Hundred and Fortieth street, and Corlear avenue from West Two Hundred and Thirtieth street to West Two Hundred and Fortieth street, twenty-fourth ward, borough of the Bronx," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Swift introduced a bill (Int. No. 633) entitled "An act to amend chapter two hundred and seventeen of the Laws of nineteen hundred and fourteen, entitled 'An act to provide a charter for the city of Buffalo,' in relation to construction of public improvements," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 634) entitled "An act to amend the Public Service Commissions Law and the Transportation Corporations

Law, in relation to gas corporations," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on public service.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 635) entitled "An act to amend the charter of the city of Buffalo, in relation to the recall," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 636) entitled "An act to amend the charter of the city of Buffalo, in relation to the initiative," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. G. L. Thompson introduced a bill (Int. No. 637) entitled "An act to amend chapter five hundred and sixty-four of the Laws of nineteen hundred and ten, entitled 'An act to provide for county roads in certain counties adjoining cities of the first class,' in relation to the maintenance and cost of such roads," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Walker, by request, introduced a bill (Int. No. 638) entitled "An act to permit the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company, Limited, to apply to the State Tax Commission for revision and readjustment of the taxes stated against it under section one hundred and eighty-seven of the Tax Law based on its report for the year nineteen hundred and seventeen," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on insurance.

Mr. Walton introduced a bill (Int. No. 639) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure, in relation to fees of stenographers in trial and special terms," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. Gibbs introduced a bill (Int. No. 640) entitled “An act to amend the Executive Law, in relation to appointment of commissioners of deeds in certain cities," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

No. 641) entitled "An act to repeal chapter eighteen of the Laws of nineteen hundred and eleven, entitled 'An act to establish the office of receiver of taxes of the town of Babylon, in the county of Suffolk, defining the powers and duties of the receiver and fixing his compensation," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 642) entitled "An act to repeal chapter one hundred and forty-seven of the Laws of nineteen hundred and nineteen, entitled 'An act to establish the office of receiver of taxes of the town of Southampton, in the county of Suffolk, defining the duties of the receiver and providing for his compensation,' which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

No. 644) entitled "An act to repeal chapter four hundred and twenty-eight of the Laws of nineteen hundred and nineteen, entitled 'An act to establish the office of receiver of taxes of the town of Islip, in the county of Suffolk, defining the duties of the receiver and providing for his compensation,' "" which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 645) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to school taxes in Suffolk county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on public education.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 646) entitled "An act to repeal chapter one hundred and thirty-eight of the Laws of nineteen hundred and ten, entitled 'An act to establish the office of receiver of taxes

of the town of Huntington, in the county of Suffolk, defining the powers and duties of the receiver and fixing his compensation,' which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Mackrell introduced a bill (Int. No. 647) entitled "An act to amend the Conservation Law, in relation to the taking of deer," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on conservation.

Mr. G. L. Thompson introduced a bill (Int. No. 648) entitled "An act to amend the Conservation Law, relating to the throwing of garbage into certain waters," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on conservation.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 653) entitled "An act to amend the Civil Service Law, in relation to inspectors of masonry construction," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on civil service.

Mr. Mullan introduced a bill (Int. No. 654) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to the salaries of members of the supervising and teaching staff in the cities of the State, apportionment of school moneys to cities and school districts, and making an appropriation therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on public education.

Mr. Burling introduced a bill (Int. No. 655) entitled "An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to apportionment of franchise, transfer and other taxes assessed by the State," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on taxation and retrenchment.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 656) entitled "An act to amend chapter one hundred and eighty-two of the Laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-two, entitled 'An act to incorporate the city of Mount Vernon,' in relation to the current expense fund for the police department, and the total amount of the current expense budget,” which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.
