No. 432), entitled "An act to amend chapter one hundred and five of the Laws of nineteen hundred and sixteen, entitled 'An act to provide for the assessment of property and the collection of taxes and assessments in the several towns of Westchester county, and in the special tax and school districts in such towns, also providing for the sale and transfer of tax liens

for such unpaid taxes and assessments, and for the foreclosure of such transfers of tax liens,' in relation to sales of tax liens for taxes and assessments and proceedings in connection therewith,' reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole. Mr. Davenport, from the committee on taxation and retrenchment, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Schackno (No. 165, Int. No. 163), entitled "An act to to repeal section two hundred and twenty-one-b of the Tax Law, relating to additional tax on investments in certain cases," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Lockwood, from the committee on public education, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lockwood (No. 389, Int. No. 377) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, relative to the apportionment of school moneys for the support of training classes," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Lockwood, from the committee on public education, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Walton (No. 735, Int. No. 701) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to apportionment of school moneys after division of school district," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Davenport, from the committee on taxation and retrenchment, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Davenport (No. 501, Int. No. 474) entitled "An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to the ascertainment of gain and loss with respect to income taxes," reported in favor of the passage of the same with amendments, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Lockwood, from the committee on public education, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lockwood (No. 20, Int. No. 20) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to salaries of the supervising and teaching staff in schools in cities of one million or more inhabitants," reported in

favor of the passage of the same with amendments, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Davenport, from the committee on taxation and retrenchment, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Schackno (No. 163, Int. No. 161) entitled "An act to repeal article fifteen of the Tax Law, in relation to the tax on investments and transfers,” reported in favor of the passage of the same with amendments, the title being amended to read as follows:

"An act to repeal article fifteen of the Tax Law, in relation to the tax on investments.'

which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

The Senate bill (No. 570, Int. No. 532) entitled "An act to authorize the town of Hempstead, Nassau county, to grant and release to union free school district number one, of the town of Hempstead, all the right, title and interest of, in and to certain premises in such town," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths. being present, as follows:

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Assembly and request their concurrence therein.

The Senate bill (No. 479, Int. No. 447) entitled "An act to appropriate the miscellaneous receipts on account of the improvement of the Erie, Oswego and Champlain canals under chapter one hundred and forty-seven of the Laws of nineteen hundred. [SENATE JOURNAL]

and three and acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto, for the purposes of the said improvement," was read the third

time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:
