The Senate bill (No. 389, Int. No. 377) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, relative to the apportionment of school moneys for the support of training classes," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

The Senate bill (No. 386, Int. No. 372) entitled "An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to exemptions allowed non-resident taxpayers and the returns of non-resident taxpayers with respect to income taxes," was read the third time.

Thompson moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways for a hearing, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The Senate bill (No. 487, Int. No. 456) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the power of the police commissioner to grant leaves of absence for sickness,' having been announced for third reading, Mr. Dodge moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on affairs of cities, with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Mullan, from the committee on affairs of cities, reported said bill amending as directed, and the same was ordered reprinted and placed on the order of third reading.

The Senate bill (No. 991, Int. No. 344) entitled "An act to amend the Beacon City charter, generally," having been announced for third reading, Mr. Towner moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on affairs of cities, with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading. The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Mullan, from the committee on affairs of cities, reported said bill amended as directed, and the same was ordered reprinted and placed on the order of third reading.

The Senate bill (No. 500, Int. No. 473) entitled "An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to the exemption of certain personal property from taxation," having been announced for third

reading, Mr. Davenport moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on taxation and retrenchment, with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading.

Mr. Knight moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 525, Int. No. 491) entitled “An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to auto trucks," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee of the whole.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Miller moved that the committee on taxation and retrenchment be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 836, Int. No. 788) entitled "An act to amend the Tax Law, in relation to imposing of additional taxes on real estate," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee on taxation and retrenchment.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Kelly moved that the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 785, Int. No. 743) entitled "An act to amend chapter five hundred and thirty-one of the Laws of nineteen hundred and twelve, entitled 'An act in relation to the equalization of the salaries of clerks in grades six, seven, eight, nine and ten of the district attorney's office in the county of New York,' in relation to salaries of clerks in the district attorney's office in such county," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative,

Mr. Schackno moved that the committee on affairs of cities be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 377, Int. No. 26) entitled "An act to regulate rents in the city of New York," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee on affairs of cities.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Dodge moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 485, Int. No. 453) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to orders by the tenement house commissioner," and that the said bill be recommitted to the committee on affairs of cities for a hearing, retaining its place in the committee of the whole. The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Marshall moved that the committee of the whole be discharged from the consideration of Senate bill (No. 561, Int. No. 523) entitled "An act to amend the Banking Law, in relation to school savings banks," and that the said bill be amended, reprinted and recommitted to the committee of the whole.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 186, Int. No. 184) entitled "An act to amend the Personal Property Law, in relation to certain gifts for charitable, educational and quasi-public uses."

Also, Senate bill (No. 187, Int. No. 185) entitled "An act to amend the Real Property Law, in relation to certain grants for charitable and quasi-public uses," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bills to the Governor.

The Assembly returned the resolution by Mr. Walker, relative to printing extra copies of the report of the New York State Bridge and Tunnel Commission, with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

tofore adopted, which was ordered referred to the committee on public service.

Messrs. Adler and Donohue, a committee from the Assembly, appeared in the Senate chamber and extended to the Senate an invitation to meet in joint session with the Assembly for the purpose of receiving and hearing Governor Allen of Kansas.

Mr. Walters moved that the invitation be accepted and that the Senate repair to the Assembly Chamber in a body for that purpose.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

No. 919) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, in relation to the appointment of stenographers in the court of general sessions, New York county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. Hewitt introduced a bill (Int. No. 920) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to registration of motor trucks,” which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Kasson introduced a bill (Int. No. 921) entitled "An act to amend the charter of the city of Little Falls, in relation to maximum amount of city tax levy, and the maximum amount
