(26) Assembly (No. 1372, Rec. No. 298), entitled "An act to amend the Real Property Law, in relation to acknowledgments and proofs in Austria and Hungary and Austria-Hungary and Germany."

(27) Assembly (No. 1104, Rec. No. 347), entitled "An act to amend the Membership Corporations Law, in relation to annual meetings of corporations organized for benevolent, charitable or missionary purposes."

(28) Assembly (No. 420, Rec. No. 382), entitled "Concurrent resolution of the Senate and Assembly proposing an amendment to section one of article two of the Constitution, in relation to residence qualifications of voters."

(29) Senate (No. 672, Int. No. 641), entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the retirement of teachers under the teachers' retirement system of such city."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Straus, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the above named bills, which report was agreed to, and said bills ordered to a third reading.

The committee of the whole considered the bills entitled as follows:

Senate (No. 922, Int. No. 79), entitled "An ac to amend the Religious Corporations Law, in relation to the qualifications of voters and of wardens or vestrymen of Protestant Episcopal parishes or churches."'

Senate (No. 135, Int. No. 135), entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to conducting business under an assumed name, and repealing section nine hundred and twenty-four of the Penal Law and section eighty-two of the Partnership Law, relating to fictitious partnership names."

Mr. Straus, from said committee, reported the above named bills with the enacting clause stricen therefrom, which report was agreed to.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 1689, Int. No. 177) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to certain benefits payable from the teachers' retirement fund of such city," with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said bill to the mayor of the city of New York for a hearing, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution.

The Assembly returned the Senate bill (No. 920, Assembly Reprint No. 1966, Int. No. 665) entitled "An act to amend chapter three hundred and fifty-six of the Laws of nineteen hundred and seven, entitled 'An act to provide for the construction of intercepting sewers in and for the city of Syracuse,' generally."

Ordered, That the Clerk transmit said bill to the mayor of the city of Syracuse for a hearing, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution.

The Senate bill (No. 930, Int. No. 852) entitled "An act authorizing the commissioners of the sinking fund of the city of New York to cancel and annul all taxes, which are now a lien upon the property of the Concourse Center of Israel, a religious corporation, in the borough of Bronx, city of New York," was returned by the mayor of the city of New York with a certificate that a public hearing has been duly held on said bill in pursuance of law, and that the mayor has duly accepted the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Governor.

The Senate bill (No. 1370, Int. No. 771) entitled "An act to amend chapter six hundred and thirty-one of the Laws of nineteen hundred and six, entitled 'An act in relation to the water supply and water department of the city of Syracuse,' in relation to the use of the water supply of the city of Syracuse by persons and institutions outside the city of Syracuse, was returned by the mayor of the city of Syracuse with a certificate that a public hearing has been duly held on said bill in pursuance of law, and that the mayor and local legislative body have duly accepted the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Governor.

The Senate bill (No. 937, Int. No. 859) entitled "An act to amend chapter five hundred and twenty of the Laws of nineteen hundred and six, entitled 'An act in relation to the municipal court of the city of Syracuse,' in relation to appeals from such court, and repealing section thirty-three of such chapter, was returned by the mayor of the city of Syracuse with a certificate that a public hearing has been duly held on said bill in pursuance of law, and that the mayor and local legislative body have duly accepted the same.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bill to the Governor.
Mr. Downing moved that the Senate do now adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Whereupon, the Senate adjourned.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

The journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Lusk introduced a bill (Int. No. 1789) entitled "An act to amend the Civil Service Law, in relation to the retirement of officers and employees in the State civil service," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on civil service.

Mr. Farrell introduced a bill (Int. No. 1790) entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to chaplains. of the fire department," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of cities.

Mr. Ferris introduced a bill (Int. No. 1791) entitled "An act to amend the General Business Law, in relation to the licensing of professional engineers and land surveyors," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Ryan introduced a bill (Int. No. 1792) entitled "An act to authorize the construction of a canal terminal in the city of Rensselaer, and making an appropriation therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Sheridan introduced a bill (Int. No. 1793) entitled "An act legalizing, ratifying and confirming certain taxes imposed, levied and assessed upon the shares of national banking associations during the years nineteen hundred and twenty, nineteen hundred and twenty-one and nineteen hundred and twenty-two; providing for the refund of income taxes paid on dividends on national bank shares during such years, and imposing a tax for such years on moneyed capital of certain persons, firms and corporations," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on taxation and retrenchment.

Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lacey (No. 1553, Int. No. 1392) entitled "An act to amend the charter of the city of Buffalo, relative to zoning regulations," reported in favor of the passage of the same with amendments, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lacey (No. 1974, Int. No. 1704) entitled "An act in relation to the minimum wage to be paid to first grade patrolmen and firemen in certain cities of the first class, and providing for the submission to the voters of
