To the State Engineer and Surveyor : DEAR SIR.-The Geneva and Ithaca Railroad Company was organized on the 7th day of June, 1870, and articles filed in Secretary of State's office. The length of road is about 40 miles. The amount of capital stock $1,250,000. Over one thousand dollars per mile of the capital stock has been subscribed in good faith, and ten per cent thereon paid in. The following are the names of the directors named in the articles of association to manage the affairs of the company for the first year: The presidency is at present vacant, owing to the resigna tion of General Hillhouse. Nothing has yet been done toward the construction of the road; we have surveyed two miles, but the location has not yet been decided upon, nor have we filed any maps thereof.
