papers, pafteboards, millboards, fcale boards, and glazed paper,
refpectively.

The faid feveral rates and duties upon the faid feveral forts of
paper, pateboard, millboard, fcale board, and glazed paper,
to be paid by the makers thereof respectively.

For every fort or kind of paper not herein-before enumerated and de-
scribed which fhall be made in Great Britain, a duty after the rate
of twenty pounds and fourteen fhillings for every one hundred
pounds of the true and real value of the fame including the duties
hereby charged thereon.

PRINTED GOODS.

For every yard fquare of paper which fhall he printed, painted, or ftained in Great Britain, to ferve for hangings or other ufes (over and above the duties payable for fuch paper before the printing, painting, or staining thereof) and fo in proportion for any greater quantity; to be paid by the printer, painter, or stainer thereof, one penny three farthings.

For every yard in length, reckoning yard-wide, of foreign callicoe, and of foreign muflin, which fhall be printed, ftained, painted, or dyed in Great Britain (except fuch as fhall be dyed throughout of one colour only) and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity seven-pence.

For every yard in length, reckoning yard-wide, of all linens and of all ftuffs made either of cotton or linen mixed with other materials, futians, velvers, velverets, dimities, and other figured ftuffs made

of cotton and other materials mixed or wholly made of cotton wool,
wove in Great Britain, which shall be printed, itained, painted, or
dyed in Great Britain (except fuch as fhall be dyed throughout of
one colour only, and fluffs made of woollen or whereof the greateft
part in value fhall be woollen) and fo in proportion for any greater
or leffer quantity, three-pence halfpenny.
For every yard in length, reckoning yard-wide, of stuffs wholly made
of cotton wool, wove in Great Britain, commonly called British ma-
nufactory, and of British muslins, which fhall be printed, ftained,
painted, or dyed, in Great Britain (except fuch as fhall be dyed
throughout of one colour only) and fo in proportion for any greater
or leffer quantity, three-pence halfpenny.

For every yard in length, reckoning half yard wide, of all filks which
fhall be printed, ftained, or painted in Great Britain (filk handker-
chiefs excepted) over and above the duties payable upon the impor-
tation of them or any of them, and fo in proportion for any greater
or leffer quantity, one fhilling and one penny three farthings.
For every yard fquare of filk handkerchiefs, which fhall be printed,
ftained, painted, or dyed, in Great Britain, and fo in proportion
for wider or narrower filk handkerchiefs, over and above the duties
payable upon the importation of them or any of them, and fo in pro-
portion for any greater or leffer quantity, four-pence halfpenny.
The faid duties on printed, ftained, painted, or dyed goods, which
fhall be printed, ftained, painted, or dyed, in Great Britain, to
be paid by the printer, ftainer, painter, or dyer thereof.
For every yard in length, reckoning yard-wide, of French printed,
ftained, painted, or dyed callicoes and muflins (except fuch as fhall
be dyed throughout of one colour only) which fhall be imported into
Great Britain directly from any of the European dominions of the
French king, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quan-
tity; to be paid by the importer thereof before the landing thereof,
feven-pence.

For every yard in length, reckoning yard-wide, of all French printed, ftained, painted, or dyed linens and ftuffs made either of cotton or linen mixed with other materials, fuftians, velvets, velverets, dimities, and other figured ftuffs made of cotton and other materials mixed or wholly made of cotton-wool (except fuch as fhall be dyed throughout of one colour only) which fhall be imported into Great Britain directly from any of the European dominions of the French king, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the importer thereof before the landing thereof, three-pence halfpenny.

SOAP.

For every pound weight avoirdupois of hard cake foap, or ball foap, which fhall be made in Great Britain, and fo in proportion for a greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the maker thereof, twopence farthing.

For every pound weight avoirdupois of foft foap which fhall be made in Great Britain, and fo in proportion for a greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the maker thereof, one penny three farthings.

For every gallon of fermented wort or wafh which fhall be brewed or made in that part of Great Britain called England on or before the fifth day of July, one thousand feven hundred and eighty-eight, for extracting fpirits for home confumption from any malt, corn, grain, or tilts, or any mixture with the fame; to be paid by the makers or diilers thereof, fixpence.

For every gallon of cyder or perry, or any other wash or liquor, which fhall be brewed or made as aforefaid from any fort or kind of British materials (except fuch as are before mentioned) or from any mixture therewita, for extracting fpirits for home confumption; to be paid by the makers or distillers thereof, five-pence.

For every gallon of fermented wort or wafh which fhall be brewed or made as aforesaid from molaffes or fugar, or any mixture therewith, for extracting spirits for home confumption; to be paid by the makers or diflillers thereof, eight-pence three farthings.

For every gallon of wath which fhall be brewed or made as aforefaid
from foreign refufed wine or foreign cyder, or wafh prepared from
foreign materials (except molaffes and fugar) or any mixture there-
with, for extracting fpirits for home confumption; to be paid by the
makers or diftillers thereof, one fhilling.
For every feventy-two galions of wath, which George Bishop of Maid-
fone hall produce on or before the fifth day of July, one thoufand
feven hundred and eighty-eight, from a weight of malt, or other
corn, including the bran thereof, and not exceeding one hundred
and twelve pounds avoirdupois; to be paid by the faid George Bi-
fhop, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity of fuch
wash, eighteen fhillings.

For every gallon of wash from which twenty-four gallons fhall be taken
and diftilled by the officer of excife, according to the directions and
under the authority of an act, made in the twenty-fixth year of the
reign of his prefent Majefty, among other things, to difcontinue for
a limited time the payment of duties on low wines and fpirits for
home confumption, and for granting and fecuring the due payment
of other duties in lieu thereof, and fuch twenty-four gallons of wash
fo diftilled fhall be found to produce more than two gallons and
three-fourth parts of a gallon of fpirits, at the ftrength of one in
feven under hydrometer proof; to be paid by the faid George Bishop,
one fhilling.

For every gallon of British fpirits of a ftrength not exceeding that of one to ten over hydrometer proof, which shall be manufactured in Scotland and brought from thence into any other part of the united kingdom on or before the fifth day of july, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight; to be paid by the importer thereof, two fhillings.

And for every gallon of all fuch fpirits as laft aforefaid of a greater trength than one to ten over hydrometer proof, and not exceeding three per centuin over and above one to ten over hydrometer proof, two fillings.

And alfo a farther duty proportioned to the degree of ftrength in which fuch fpirits fhall exceed the faid ftrength of one to ten over hydrometer proof; to be paid by the importer thereof, or the perfon bringing the fame.
