For every gallon of fingle brandy which fhall be imported into Great Britain; to be paid by the importer before the landing thereof, four fhillings and three-pence.

For every gallon of brandy above proof which fhall be imported into
Great Britain; to be paid by the importer before the landing there-
of, eight fhillings and one penny.
For every gallon of rum, fpirits, or aqua vitæ, of the produce of the
British colonies or plantations, which fhall be imported from beyond
the feas into Great Britain; to be paid by the importer before the
landing thereof, three fhillings and feven-pence.

For every gallon of rum, fpirits, or aqua vitæ above proof, of the pro-
duce of the British colonies or plantations, which shall be imported
from beyond the feas into Great Britain; to be paid by the importer
before the landing thereof, fix fhillings and eight-pence.
For every gallon of fingle spirits, or aqua vite (other than fuch brandy,
rum, fpirits, or aqua vitæ as aforefaid) which shall be imported from
beyond the feas into Great Britain; to be paid by the importer be-
fore the landing thereof, four fhillings and three-pence.
For every gallon of fpirits, or aqua vitae (other than fuch brandy, rum,
fpirits, or aqua vitæ as aforefaid) above proof, which fhall be im.
ported from beyond the feas into Great Britain; to be paid by the
importer before the landing thereof, eight fhillings and one penny.

STARCH.

For every pound weight avoirdupois of ftarch of what kind foever which fhall be made in Great Britain, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the maker thereof, threepence farthing.

SWEET S.

For every barrel of liquor which fhall be made in Great Britain for fale, by infufion, fermentation, or otherwife, from fruit or fugar or from fruit or fugar mixt with any other ingredients or materials whatfoever, commonly called fweets or called or diftinguished by the name of made wines, and fo in proportion for a greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the maker thereof, eighteen fhillings and four-pence three farthings.

TE A.

For and upon all tea which fhall be fold in Great Britain by the united company of merchants of England trading to the Eaft Indies, feven pounds ten fhillings per centum, to be computed upon the grofs prices at which fuch tea fhall be fold; to be paid by the purchater or purchafers of fuch tea to the said united company, and to be paid by the faid united company to the commiffioners of excife for the time being.

VERJUICE.

For every hogfhead of verjuice which fhall be made in Great Britain for fale; to be paid by the maker thereof, and fo in proportion for a greater or leffer quantity, feven fhillings and eight-pence.

For every barrel of vinegar, vinegar beer, or liquors preparing for vinegar, which fhall be brewed or made in Great Britain for fale; to be paid by the maker thereof, and fo in proportion for a greater or leffer quantity, ten fhillings and three farthings.

WINE.

For every ton of French, Rhenifh, German, or Hungary wine, which
fhall be imported into Great Britain, and fo in proportion for any
greater or leffer quantity; to be paid by the importer thereof before
the landing thereof, feventeen pounds feventeen fhillings.
For every ton of all other wines which shall be imported into Great
Britain, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity; to
be paid by the importer thereof before the landing thereof, eleven
pounds eighteen fhillings.

WIRE.

For every ounce troy of gilt wire which fhall be made in Great Britain,
and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity; to be paid
by the maker thereof, nine-pence farthing.
For every ounce troy of filver wire which fhall be made in Great Bri-
tain, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity; to be
paid by the maker thereof, feven-pence.

[PON every barrel of beer or ale above fix fhillings the barrel (exclufive of the duty hereby imposed on fuch beer or ale, and not being beer or ale commonly called table beer, which shall be brewed and made as aforefaid) which fhall be brewed by the common brewer or by any other perfon or perfons who doth or fhall fell or tap out beer or ale, publickly or privately, within the cities of London and Westminster or within the limits of the Weekly Bills of Mortality, and returned by the gauger, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity, one fhilling and four-pence. Upon every barrel of beer or ale above fix fhillings the barrel (exclufive of the duty hereby imposed on such beer or ale, not being two-penny ale mentioned and defcribed in the feventh article of the treaty of union, or fuch table beer) which fhall be brewed by the common brewer or by any other perfon or perfons who doth or fhall fell or tap out beer or ale, publickly or privately, in that part of Great Britain called England not within the faid cities of London and Westminkter nor within the Weekly Bills of Mortality, and returned by the gauger, and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity, one fhilling and eight-pence.

brewed by the common brewer or any other perfon or perfons who
doth or fhall fell or tap out beer or ale, publickly or privately, in
that part of Great Britain called Scotland, and returned by the gauger,
and fo in proportion for any greater or leffer quantity, three-pence.
Upon every barrel of two-penny ale mentioned and defcribed in the fe-
venth article of treaty of union which shall be brewed in that part of
Great Britain called Scotland, and returned by the gauger, and fo in
proportion for any greater or leffer quantity, fixpence.

MALT.

For every quarter of malt which fhall be made and locked
portation, and exported according to the directions of an act, made
in the twelfth year of the reign of King George the Firft concerning
malt made for exportation, three-pence.

PAPER.

For any quantities of paper which fhall be used in the printing any books in the Latin, Greek, Oriental, or Northern languages, within the two universities of Oxford and Cambridge or either of them, by permiffion of the vice-chancellors of the fame refpectively, the duties of excife by this act impofed thereon.

For any quantities of paper which fhall be used in the printing any books in the Latin, Greek, Oriental, or Northern languages, within the universities of Scotland or any of them, by permiffion of the principals of the fame refpectively, the duties of excife by this act impofed thereon.

SOA P.

For every pound weight avoirdupois of hard cake foap, or ball foap,
which fhall be employed, spent, or confumed in Great Britain, in the
making any cloths, ferges, kerfeys, bays, stockings, or other manu-
factures of theep or lambs wool only, or manufactures whereof the
greatest part of the value of the materials fhall be wool, or in the
finishing the faid manufactures or preparing the wool for the fame,
one penny halfpenny.

For every pound weight avoirdupois of foft foap, which fhall be em-
ployed, spent, or confumed in Great Britain, in the making any
cloths, ferges, kerfeys, bays, ftockings, or other manufactures of
fheep or lambs wool only, or manufactures whereof the greatest part
of the value of the materials fhall be wool, or in the finishing the faid
manufactures or preparing the wool for the fame, one penny and one
twelfth part of a penny.
For every pound weight avoirdupois of hard cake foap, or ball foap,
which fhall be employed, fpent, or confumed in Great Britain, in
the whitening of new linen in the piece in order to the fale of fuch
linen, one penny farthing.

BOUNTIES.

OR every barrel of beer or ale above fix fhillings the barrel, ex-£. fi de clafive of the duty hereby impofed on fuch beer or ale, which hall be proved to have been brewed in Great Britain from malted corn, and whereupon the duties for ftrong beer or ale fhall be proved to have been charged or paid, and which fhall be exported to foreign parts as merchandize, when barley is at twenty-four fhillings per quarter or under, one shilling. For every ton of fpirits drawn or made in Great Britain from corn, ander, fubject, and according to the rules, regulations, reftrictions, and provifions, contained and provided in and by an act of parliament, made in the fecond year of the reign of his prefent Majefty, for the better regulating and encouraging the exportation of British made fpirits and for fecuring the payment of the duties upon fpirituous liquors, or any other act or acts of parliament now in force concerning British fpirits made or drawn from corn for exportation, which fhall be exported to foreign parts as merchandize, three pounds twelve fhillings
