There are facilities for running, jumping, putting the shot, basketball, etc., and each of these have their popularity depending upon the time of year. The double sand-box for the little ones is well patronized, and many architectural wonders can be seen being erected here. The grounds have been happily free from accidents, although we are well prepared to take care of such if they occur. The Director would recommend the erection of another double handball court, and would suggest the putting in of a shower-bath in the Shelter-house. The widening of the grounds to the curb, with the erection of a fence, would facilitate and increase the efficiency of the work. The attendance and interest seem to increase each year, the present season being the best that the Director has seen in his seven-year work. The people in the neighborhood seem to be interested in the work, and we have no complaints as is usual in the vicinity of a playground. The Director wishes to call the Commissioners' attention to the faithful and efficient services of his assistant, Mr. George Allgier. Respectfully yours, B. T. SIMPSON. PARK FUND DISBURSEMENTS.
