Ezek. xliv. 12. They shall bear their inquity.
Hos. iv 6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thçe, that thou shalt be no priest to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Ver. 9. There shall be like people like priest, and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them for their doings.
Luke xi. 52. they have taken away the key of knowledge.
Matt. xxiii. 3 They say and do not, they bind heavy burdens on men's shoulders, but they themselves will not touch them with one of their fingers.

OF FALSE PROPHETS AND FALSE TEACHERS. CXXXVII. They deceive the people with flatteries and false doctrine. Isa. ix. 14. The Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail.
Ver. 15. The prophet that teacheth lies is the tail.
Ver. 31. The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means, and my people love to have it so.
xiv. 14. The prophets prophesy lies in my name, I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them ; they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. Ch. xxvii. 9, 10, &c.
vi. 14. They have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying peace, peace, when there was no peace. Ch. viii. 11. Ezek. xiï. 10. 18. Mic. iji. 5.

Ver. 14. Thus saith the Lord, I will break down the wall which yo have daubed with untempered mortar, it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof. Ver. 15.
Ver. 18. Woe unto them that sew pillows to all arm-holes. Sec to ver. 23. Ch. xxii. 28.
Lam.ii. 14. Thy prophets have seen vain and soolish things for thee, and have not discovered thine iniquity.

Matt. v. 19. Whosoever shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

DUTIES TOWARD TRE MINISTRY. XXXVIII. To receive their instructions. Deut. xvii. 9. Thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and inquire.
Ver. 10. And thou shalt do according to the sentence which they shall shew thee.
Ver. 11. According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee thou shalt do; thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the righi-hand nor to the left. 1 Sam. ix. 9.
2 Chron. XX. 20. Believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. Ch. xxx. 22.
Mal. ij. 7. The priests lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at liis mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
John viii. 47. He that is of Cod heareth God's words,
Ver. 3. All therefore whatsoever they bid you do, that observe and do.
Luke x. 16. Hc that heareth you heareth me. Matt. x. 40. John xiii. 20.
I Cor. iv. 6. Be not puffed up for one against another.

Ver. 13. Esteem them highly in love for their works sake. Phil.ii 29.
v. 17. Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Matt. x. 10. Jesus said, the workman is worthy of his meat.
I Cor. ix. 11. Paul said, if we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your carnal things ?
Ver. 15. Do ye not know that they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
Ver. 14. Even so hath God ordained, that they which preach the gospol, should live of the gospel. See Ver. 4 to 9. Deut. xxv. 4.
Gal. vi. 6. Let him that is taught in the word, communicate to him that teacheth, in all good things.

CXLII. Despising them, and not hearkening to their instructions. Deut. xvii. 2. The man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken to the priest that standeth to minister before the Lord, even that man shall

Isa. xxx. 9. This is a rebellious people which will not hear the law of the Lord.

Jer. ii. 25. Thou saidst I have loved strangers, and after them I will go.

vi, 10. The word of the Lord is un to them a reproach, they have no delight in it.
