MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY, AND SATURDAY MORNINGS.

All standing, the head of the family (or the priest or deacon, if present) says:

. O Lord, open Thou our lips.

Ry. And our mouth shall shew forth Thy praise.

. O God, make speed to save us.

Ry. O Lord, make haste to help us.

. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

Ry. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Then he says one of the following Psalms: ·

Psalms of praise and thanksgiving | He spake unto them out of the for God's greatness and power.cloudy pillar : for they kept His testimonies, and the law that He gave them.

PSALM 99. HE Lord is King, be the people never so impatient: He sitteth between the cherubims, be the earth never so unquiet.

The Lord is great in Sion: and high above all people. They shall give thanks unto Thy name which is great, wonderful, and holy.

The King's power loveth judgment; Thou hast prepared equity : Thou hast executed judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

O magnify the Lord our God: and fall down before His footstool, for He is holy.

Moses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel among such as call upon His name: these called upon the Lord, and He heard them.

Thou heardest them, O Lord our God: Thou forgavest them, O God, and punishedst their own inventions.

O magnify the Lord our God, and worship Him upon His holy hill for the Lord our God is

He smote divers nations and slew mighty kings;

Sehon king of the Amorites, and Og the king of Basan: and all the kingdoms of Canaan ;

And gave their land to be an heritage even an heritage unto Israel His people.

Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever so doth Thy memorial, O Lord, from one generation to another.

For the Lord will avenge His people and be gracious unto His servants.

As for the images of the heathen, they are but silver and gold: the work of men's hands.

They have mouths, and speak not eyes have they, but they see

PSALM 9.

WILL give thanks unto Thee, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will speak of all Thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in Thee: yea, my songs will I make of Thy name, O Thou most Highest.

While mine enemies are driven back: they shall fall and perish at Thy presence.

For Thou hast maintained my right and my cause: Thou art set in the throne that judgest right.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen, and destroyed the ungodly: Thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end even as the cities which thou hast destroyed; their memorial is perished with them.

But the Lord shall endure for ever: He hath also prepared His seat for judgment.

For He shall judge the world in righteousness and minister true judgment unto the people.

The Lord also will be a defence for the oppressed : even a refuge in due time of trouble.

And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee for Thou, Lord, hast never failed them that seek Thee.

O praise the Lord which dwelleth in Sion shew the people of His doings.

For, when He maketh inquisition for blood, He remembereth them: and forgetteth not the complaint of the poor.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider the trouble which I suffer of them that hate me : Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death.

That I may shew all Thy praises within the ports of the daughter of Sion: I will rejoice in Thy salva

One day telleth another and one night certifieth another.

There is neither speech nor language: but their voices are heard among them.

Their sound is gone out into all
and their words into the

lands
ends of the world.

In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun which cometh forth as a bridegroom out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a giant to run his

course.

It goeth forth from the uttermost part of the heaven, and runneth about unto the end of it again: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

The law of the Lord is an undefiled law, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, and giveth wisdom unto the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth light unto the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, and endureth for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold : sweeter also than honey, and the honey-comb.

Moreover, by them is Thy servant taught and in keeping of them there is great reward.

:

Who can tell how oft he offendeth: O cleanse Thou me from my secret faults.

Keep Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, lest they get the dominion over me so shall I be undefiled, and innocent from the great offence.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart: be alway acceptable in Thy sight,

O Lord my strength, and my redeemer.

Praise for God's merciful care and protection of those who trust in Him.

PSALM 146.

PRAISE the Lord, O my soul; brought them forth into the house

while I live will I praise the Lord yea, as long as I have any being, I will sing praises unto my God.

O put not your trust in princes, nor in any child of man: for there is no help in them.

For when the breath of man goeth forth he shall turn again to his earth and then all his thoughts perish.

Blessed is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help and whose hope is in the Lord his God;

Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: who keepeth His promise for ever;

Who helpeth them to right that suffer wrong: who feedeth the hungry.

The Lord looseth men out of prison: the Lord giveth sight to the blind.

The Lord helpeth them that are fallen the Lord careth for the righteous.

The Lord careth for the strangers; He defendeth the fatherless and widow as for the way of the ungodly, He turneth it upside down.

:

The Lord thy God, O Sion, shall be King for evermore : and throughout all generations.
