AN ACT to amend chapter forty of the laws of nineteen hundred and four, entitled "An act to provide that the University of the State of New York shall be governed and its corporate powers exercised by eleven regents, and to provide for their election; and to provide for a department of education and the election of a commissioner of education," relative to the number of regents, their election, terms of office and residence.' Became a law February 1, 1909, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: ch. 40, ticle Section 1. The title of chapter forty of the laws of nineteen L. 1904, hundred and four, entitled "An act to provide that the University amended. of the State of New York shall be governed and its corporate powers exercised by eleven regents, and to provide for their election; and to provide for a department of education and the election of a commissioner of education," is hereby amended to read as follows: An act to provide that the University of the State of New York shall be governed and its corporate powers exercised by a board of regents whose members shall be at all times three more than the then existing judicial districts of the state, and to provide for their election; and to provide for a department of education and the election of a commissioner of education. § 2.
